Albert Bauer (glaciologist)
Albert Bauer (June 6, 1928 – April 21, 2021) was an American politician in the American state of Washington. Early life Bauer was born in Lewistown, Montana and attended Clark Community College, Portland State College, and Oregon State University. A Navy veteran, he was a teacher before entering politics. Career Bauer was elected to the Washington House of Representatives in 1971 to the 49th district, and served until 1980, when he ran for the state senate. In the latter three years, he served as the House Democratic Caucus Chairman. He served in the Washington State Senate from 1981 to 2001 as a Democrat representing the 48th district. From 1999 to 2001, he was Senate Vice President Pro Tempore. Awards and honors Bauer Hall at Clark College is named in his honour. Washington State Senate
The Washington State Senate is the upper house of the Washington State Legislature. The body consists of 49 members, each representing a district with a population of nearly 160,000. The State Senate meets at the Legislative Building in Olympia. As with the lower House of Representatives, state senators serve without term limits, though senators serve four-year terms. Senators are elected from the same legislative districts as House members, with each district electing one senator and two representatives. Terms are staggered so that half the Senate is up for reelection every two years. It wasn't formally incorporated until 1858 when the name was changed to Corvallis College, and wasn't chartered until 1868. PDK International (also known as PDK or Phi Delta Kappa International) is a US professional organization for educators. Its main office is in Arlington, Virginia. It was founded on January 24, 1906. Membership Currently, membership consists of educators and others interested in education. Members are affiliated through one of several hundred chapters or directly to the international organization.
