Alberico Motta
Alberico Motta (6 October 1937 - 23 May 2019) was an Italian cartoonist and illustrator. Life and career Born in Milan, Motta started his career at just 14 years old, collaborating with some children magazines published by Edizioni Alpe. He made his debut as a cartoonist on the magazine ''Chicchirichì'', realizing stories of the title character as well as series created by himself. Starting from 1957 Motta started collaborating, both as an artist and more often as a writer, with the major characters of Edizioni Alpe, notably ''Tiramolla, Cucciolo, Geppo, Nonna Abelarda, Provolino'' and the Italian-produced comic versions of ''Popeye'' ("''Braccio di Ferro''"), ''Felix'' and ''Tom and Jerry''. In 1980 he created the first Italian manga-inspired comic series, . In the 1980s he wrote stories for the Walt Disney magazine ''Topolino'' and collaborated with the publishing house Epierre. Felix The Cat
Felix the Cat is a cartoon character created in 1919 by Pat Sullivan and Otto Messmer during the silent film era. An anthropomorphic black cat with white eyes, a black body, and a giant grin, he was one of the most recognized cartoon characters in film history. Felix was the first animated character to attain a level of popularity sufficient to draw movie audiences. Felix originated from the studio of Australian cartoonist- film entrepreneur Pat Sullivan. Either Sullivan himself or his lead animator, American Otto Messmer, created the character. What is certain is that Felix emerged from Sullivan's studio, and cartoons featuring the character became big in popular culture. Aside from the animated shorts, Felix starred in a comic strip (drawn by Sullivan, Messmer and later Joe Oriolo) beginning in 1923, and his image soon adorned merchandise such as ceramics, toys and postcards. Galerie Lambiek is a Dutch comic book store and art gallery in Amsterdam, founded on November 8, 1968 by Kees Kousemaker (, – Bussum, ), though since 2007, his son Boris Kousemaker is the current owner. From 1968 to 2015, it was located in the Kerkstraat, but in November 2015, the store moved to the Koningsstraat 27. As of 2018, Lambiek is the oldest comics store in Europe, and the oldest worldwide still in existence. The name "Lambiek" originated as a misspelling of the name of the comics character Lambik, from the popular Suske & Wiske comic book series created by Belgian artist Willy Vandersteen. ''Topolino'' (from the Italian name for Mickey Mouse) is an Italian digest-sized comic series featuring Disney comics. The series has had a long running history, first appearing in 1932 as a comics magazine. It is currently published by Panini Comics. Topolino ''giornale'' (1932–1949) In 1932 the editor Mario Nerbini decided to open a new weekly newspaper for kids, containing illustrated tales with Mickey Mouse. The first issue of ''Topolino'' was published on December 31, 1932: it contained Mickey's first Italian story drawn by Giove Toppi. In this story, Mickey Mouse was chased by an elephant. Certosa Di Pavia
The Certosa di Pavia is a monastery and complex in Lombardy, Northern Italy, situated near a small town of the same name in the Province of Pavia, north of Pavia.
