Alaska Milkmen
The Alaska Aces were a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association since 1986 PBA season, 1986 under the ownership of Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) and the owner of 14 PBA championships, tied with the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Magnolia Hotshots for the second-most titles overall. They are one of the most popular teams in the league and the Philippines. The Aces won nine PBA championships in the 1990s, including a rare Grand Slam (PBA), grand slam (winning three championships in one season) during the 1996 PBA season, 1996 season, joining the Crispa Redmanizers (1976 PBA season, 1976, 1983 PBA season, 1983), San Miguel Beermen (1989 PBA season, 1989), and the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers (2013–14 PBA season, 2013–14) as one of only four franchises to achieve the feat. Wilfred Steven "Fred" B. Uytengsu Jr. is a Filipino businessman. As of August 2017, ''Forbes'' lists him as the 35th richest in the Philippines with a net worth of $240 Million. Personal life Uytengsu was born in 1961 in Cebu City to Wilfred T. Uytengsu, Sr. and Bonnie Brooks. His paternal grandparents were Chinese Filipino. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 1983. After completing his studies in the United States, he returned to the Philippines and joined the family owned Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC). He became president of AMC in 1998 and its CEO in 2007. Johnny Abarrientos
Johnny Abarrientos (born July 17, 1970) is a Filipino retired professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association. He was also a many-time member of the Philippine National team, and was the 1996 PBA Most Valuable Player, becoming the shortest player to win the league's highest individual award. He is known by many as The Flying A when he started playing for the Alaska Milkmen in 1993. He is currently an assistant coach for the Magnolia Hotshots and the Head Coach for the FEU Tamaraws. Amateur career Abarrientos began his basketball career in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines for the Far Eastern University Tamaraws alongside future pro Victor Pablo and led the Tamaraws to two UAAP crowns in 1991 and 1992. Sonny Thoss
Joachim Gunther "Sonny" Thoss (born December 7, 1981) is a German-Filipino former professional basketball player. He played his entire career in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) with the Alaska Aces, where his jersey number is retired. Early life and education Joachim Thoss was born on December 7, 1981, in Papua New Guinea to a German father and to a Filipina mother. His father, Joachim Thoss Sr. was an East German patrol guard who patrolled the Berlin Wall before it fell and is a carpenter who is involved in construction projects in Papua New Guinea. Jojo Lastimosa
Isabelo "Jojo" Lastimosa Jr. (born March 10, 1964) is a Filipino former professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association for the Purefoods Hotdogs, the Alaska Aces and the Pop Cola Panthers from 1988 to 2002. He was also a former member of the Philippines' national basketball team during the 1980s and 1990s. He also played for the University of San Jose - Recoletos in Cebu City. The 2013 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner's Cup was the second conference of the 2012–13 PBA season. The tournament began on February 8 and ended on May 19, 2013. The tournament is an import-laden format, which requires an import or a pure-foreign player for each team and with no height limit. From the semifinal round onwards, the tournament is sponsored by Cebuana Lhuillier. Format Due to the preparations of the Philippines men's national basketball team for the upcoming FIBA Asia Championship, the opening of Governors' Cup was moved on the second week of August, at the conclusion of the FIBA tournament. 2012–13 PBA Season
The 2012–13 PBA season was the 38th season of the Philippine Basketball Association. The season formally opened on September 30, 2012, and finished October 25, 2013. This was the longest in PBA history with 13-month span. The season continued to use the three-conference format, starting with the Philippine Cup, or the traditional All-Filipino Conference. The 2010 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Fiesta Conference was the last conference of the 2009-10 PBA season. It started on March 21 and finished on August 18, 2010. The tournament is an Import-laden format, which requires an import or a pure-foreign player for each team and with a height limit of 6-foot-6 (same with the previous Fiesta Conferences except 2008 which had imports of unlimited heights, and of 2007 where the two worst teams in the Philippine Cup had an extra import of 6-foot-1 height limit). The 2007 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Fiesta Conference or known as the 2007 Talk 'N Text PBA Fiesta Conference for sponsorship reasons, is the second conference of the 2006-07 season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Teams are allowed to pick an import with a maximum height-limit of 6-feet, 6-inches tall. The tournament began on March 4 and finished on July 20. The schedule will be shortened due to the league's commitment to the Philippine national basketball team while 12 players selected by national team head coach Chot Reyes will not play for their mother teams. The 2006–07 PBA season was the 32nd season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The season started September 28 in Guam and began its formal opening on October 1 at the Araneta Coliseum, and ended on July 20. The 2003 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Samsung-Invitational Championship, was the second conference of the 2003 PBA season. It started on July 27 and ended on August 23, 2003.
