''Alarm'' is a 2008 Irish thriller film written and directed by Gerard Stembridge and starring Ruth Bradley and Aidan Turner. Overview ''Alarm'' was filmed primarily in Dublin, Ireland. Gerard Stembridge
Gerard "Gerry" Stembridge (born 1958, County Limerick, Ireland) is an Irish writer, director and actor. He was educated at CBS Sexton Street in Limerick and later at Castleknock College. While attending University College Dublin, he was auditor of the Literary and Historical Society. He taught English and drama at Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Clontarf. Radio He reached significant prominence in Ireland when he co-created the satirical comedy radio programme ''Scrap Saturday'' with Dermot Morgan. It became one of the most popular programmes on RTÉ Radio. Film career Stembridge wrote the screenplay for ''Ordinary Decent Criminal'' (which starred Kevin Spacey and Linda Fiorentino). Tom Hickey (1944 – 1 May 2021) was an Irish actor who appeared on stage and screen in a career that began in the early 1960s. He was best known for playing Benjy Riordan in the long-running television series, ''The Riordans''. Early life Born in Kildare, Hickey began his career in 1963 at Deirdre O'Connell's Stanislavski Studio in Dublin where he trained in Stanislavski's system of acting. Anita Reeves (24 June 1948 – 7 July 2016) was an Irish stage and film actress. Early life Born in South Dublin, Ireland, the youngest daughter of Jack Reeves and his wife, Kay. Reeves grew up on Sundrive Road in Dublin 12, where her father Jack was a sergeant at the Garda station on the same road. She was educated at St Louis High School, Rathmines and trained at night as an actor for four years at the Brendan Smith Academy in Dublin. As a child, Reeves's parents would take her to see plays and pantomimes in Dún Laoghaire. She played an extra in a play during a festival, then quit her steady job at the complaints department of a laundry to be an assistant stage manager.
