Alandi (horse)
Alandi (foaled 4 April 2005) is an Irish-bred Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. He was a slow-maturing horse who did not race as a two-year-old and made only one (winning) appearance at three. As a four-year-old he established himself as one of the best staying racehorses in the world with victories in the Vintage Crop Stakes, Ballycullen Stakes, Irish St. Leger and Prix du Cadran. He was then sold to race in Australia as a Melbourne Cup prospect but failed to reproduce his European form. A return to Europe in 2012 saw no improvement and he was retired from racing to become a breeding stallion in Poland. Galileo (30 March 1998 – 10 July 2021) was an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse and sire (horse), sire. In a racing career which lasted from October 2000 until October 2001, he ran eight times and won six races. He is best known for having won Epsom Derby, the Derby, Irish Derby Stakes, Irish Derby and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes in 2001. He was named the Cartier Champion Three-year-old Colt, European Champion Three-Year-Old Colt of 2001. After his retirement, Galileo was one of the most sought-after sires in the world. Kilcullen (), formally Kilcullen Bridge, is a small town on the River Liffey in County Kildare, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. Ruler of the World (foaled 17 March 2010) is an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse who won The Derby in 2013. He was unraced as a two-year-old. In 2013, he won a maiden race at the Curragh and the Group Three Chester Vase before winning the Derby on his third appearance. Minding (foaled 10 February 2013) is a champion Irish Thoroughbred racehorse who was the 2016 European Horse of the Year after winning the Epsom Oaks, 1000 Guineas, and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes. She was among the leading two-year-old fillies of her generation in Europe in 2015 when she won three of her five races including the Moyglare Stud Stakes in Ireland and the Fillies' Mile in England. On her first appearance of 2016 the filly posted a decisive victory in the classic 1000 Guineas but was subsequently beaten when favourite for the Irish 1,000 Guineas. She went on to win a second classic in The Oaks in June, the first filly to complete the Guineas-Oaks double since Kazzia in 2002. Found (foaled 13 March 2012) is an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse. Sired by Galileo out of the mare Red Evie, she represents the Coolmore Stud organisation and is trained by Aidan O'Brien. In 2014 she won a strong maiden race on her debut and then finished third in the Moyglare Stud Stakes before winning the Prix Marcel Boussac. She was rated the equal-best two-year-old filly to race in Europe in 2014. In 2015 she finished second in her first three starts (including the Irish 1,000 Guineas and the Coronation Stakes) before winning the Royal Whip Stakes. Rip Van Winkle (12 February 2006 – 31 July 2020) was an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse sired by the dual Derby winner Galileo. Like his sire, Rip Van Winkle was also trained by Aidan O'Brien. Racing career 2008: two-year-old season Winning his maiden at the first time of asking, Rip Van Winkle then went on to win the Group 3 Tyros Stakes. After that effort, Rip Van Winkle started as the 6/4 favourite to win the Dewhurst on his final start as a two-year-old but was stuck behind a wall of horses in a bunched finish in which the first four home were covered by only half a length. In a racing career which lasted from July 2007 to October 2008 he ran eleven times and won eight races. Nathaniel (foaled 24 April 2008) is an Irish-bred British-trained Thoroughbred racehorse. Nathaniel failed to win in two races as a two-year-old but attracted attention by running Frankel to half a length at Newmarket.
