Alan Wardlaw
Alan Lindsay Wardlaw (23 July 1887 – 24 December 1938) was an Australian politician. He was born in Avoca, Tasmania. Avoca, Tasmania
Avoca is a rural locality in the local government areas (LGA) of Northern Midlands (99%) and Break O'Day (1%) in the Central and North-east LGA regions of Tasmania. The locality is about south-east of the town of Longford. The 2021 census recorded a population of 192 for Avoca. It is a small village located south-east of Launceston in Tasmania. Avoca is situated on the banks of the South Esk River near the confluence of the St. Paul's river in the parish of Avoca and county of Cornwall, and was first settled in the 1830s. It was originally named ''St. Paul's Plains'' by John Helder Wedge during a 1833 survey of the area. Ringarooma
Ringarooma is a small town in north-eastern Tasmania. It is located just east of the Ringarooma River and is about south-west from Derby and east-northeast from Launceston. The area around Ringarooma is known for Dairy farming and timber harvesting. The locality is in the Dorset Council LGA, except for about 2.5% which is in the Break O'Day Council area. History The district was opened up to farming in the 1860s, and the town itself was founded in 1882 when a rural property was subdivided into lots by landowner Christopher Krushka. It was initially known as Krushka Town before being renamed Ringarooma in November 1888, taking on the name of a coastal town near Bridport, which was renamed Boobyalla. Tasmanian Legislative Council
The Tasmanian Legislative Council is the upper house of the Parliament of Tasmania in Australia. It is one of the two chambers of the Parliament, the other being the House of Assembly. Both houses sit in Parliament House in the state capital, Hobart. Members of the Legislative Council are often referred to as MLCs. The Legislative Council has 15 members elected using preferential voting in 15 single-member electorates. Each electorate has approximately the same number of electors. A review of Legislative Council division boundaries is required every 9 years; the most recent was completed in 2017. Election of members in the Legislative Council are staggered. Elections alternate between three divisions in one year and in two divisions the next year. Elections take place on the first Saturday in May. The term of each MLC is six years. Arthur William Loone (28 April 1857 – 15 June 1936) was an Australian politician. He was born in Bath in England. In 1910 he was elected to the Tasmanian Legislative Council as the Independent member for South Esk.
