Alan Uger
Alan Uger (born December 24, 1940) is an American writer and producer, known for ''Family Ties'', '' Blazing Saddles'', and '' Champs''. He was nominated three times for Outstanding Writer in a Comedy Series for ''Family Ties'', in 1985, 1986 and 1987; winning in 1987. ''Blazing Saddles'' is a 1974 American satirical western black comedy film directed by Mel Brooks, who also wrote the screenplay with Andrew Bergman, Richard Pryor, Norman Steinberg, and Alan Uger. Norman Steinberg
Norman Steinberg (born June 6, 1939) is an American television director, director, television producer, producer and screenwriter. Steinberg was a lawyer before starting writing. He wrote several projects with former dentist Alan Uger before the pair were hired by Mel Brooks as writers on his 1974 film ''Blazing Saddles''. The Writers Guild of America West (WGAW) is a labor union representing film, television, radio, and new media writers. It was formed in 1954 from five organizations representing writers, including the Screen Writers Guild. It has around 20,000 members. History The Screen Writers Guild (SWG) was formed in 1921 by a group of ten screenwriters in Hollywood angered over wage reductions announced by the major film studios. The group affiliated with the Authors Guild in 1933 and began representing TV writers in 1948.
