Alan Pigram
Alan Pigram is an Australian musician and songwriter. He has been a member of Scrap Metal and The Pigram Brothers. Career Along with his brothers Stephen and Phillip, Pigram was a founding member of Scrap Metal. Together they toured nationally and released four albums before breaking up in 1995. Alan, Steven and Phillip then joined up with their brothers David, Colin, Gavin and Peter to form The Pigram Brothers. They released several albums. In 2011 Pigram worked with Alex Lloyd and Stephen Pigram on the soundtrack of ''Mad Bastards'', a film he co-produced with Brendan Fletcher, David Jowsey, and Stephen Pigram. Scrap Metal (band)
Scrap Metal were a band from Broome, Western Australia who played rock music with elements of country and reggae. The members had Aboriginal, Irish, Filipino, French, Chinese, Scottish, Indonesian and Japanese heritage. The band toured nationally as part of the ''Bran Nue Dae'' musical and with Midnight Oil, and were the first Aboriginal band to sign an international publishing deal. An ABC TV documentary ''From Broome to the Big Smoke'' was made about them. Scrap Metal won the 'Best Indigenous Act' award at the 1992 West Australian Music Industry Awards. After Scrap Metal Alan, Stephen and Phillip Pigram joined up with their brothers David, Colin, Gavin and Peter to create The Pigram Brothers. The 25th Annual Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAs) were a series of award ceremonies which included the 2011 ARIA Artisan Awards, ARIA Hall of Fame Awards, ARIA Fine Arts Awards and ARIA Awards. The Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards, known as the AACTA Awards, are presented annually by the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA). The Pigram Brothers
The Pigram Brothers are a seven-piece Indigenous Australian band from the pearling town of Broome, Western Australia, formed in 1996. They were heavily involved in Broome's musical and theatrical exports – forming the original backing band for Jimmy Chi's 1990 musical ''Bran Nue Dae'', which received international acclaim. The Pigram Brothers had a large music influence from an early age, and grew up in the rich musical culture of Broome. Inside Film Awards
The Inside Film Awards (now known as the IF Awards) is an annual awards ceremony and broadcast platform for the Australian film industry, developed by the creators of Inside Film Magazine, Stephen Jenner and David Barda, and originally produced for television by Australian Producer Andrew Dillon. The awards are determined by a national audience poll, which differentiates it from the Australian AACTA Awards, which are judged by industry professionals. The event is held in November each year, and is broadcast on SBS television and showtime movie channels. David Jowsey
David Jowsey is an Australian film producer, co-founder of Bunya Productions. He is known for producing many films made by Indigenous Australian filmmakers. Bunya Productions' co-owners are Indigenous filmmaker Ivan Sen, and Jowsey's wife Greer Simpkin. Early life and education Jowsey was born in Auckland, New Zealand. His mother used to take him to the cinema a lot and he developed a deep love of storytelling and films as a child. At Auckland University, he ran a drama group, which led to a job at TVNZ. Career In his work at TVNZ, he worked for some time in the Māori department, and developed an affinity for telling Indigenous stories. He was on the production team for the first episode of ''Waka Huia'', which went to air in 1987.
