Alan Partridge (Brookside)
Alan Partridge is a fictional character in Channel 4 soap '' Brookside''. He was portrayed by Dicken Ashworth from 1983 until 1985. He was the first resident to live at No. 6 (the bungalow). Background Alan was introduced as a computer expert, which represented for producer Phil Redmond the 'micro-electronic technical revolution' of the early 1980s. At the time he moved in he had a long-term partner, Samantha (Sam, played by Dinah May) who lived elsewhere. Rob Spendlove
Rob Spendlove (born 1 May 1953 in London) is a British actor best known for his roles on British television. He studied drama at Middlesex Polytechnic, worked as a teacher and toured schools with a fringe theatre company. He has appeared in many television soaps and dramas. He played one of the original characters ''Brookside'', Roger Huntington, the husband of Heather Huntingdon played by Amanda Burton. He played D.I.Hook in the '' Tales of the Unexpected'' episode (9/8) "The Finger of Suspicion" (1988). Also in 1988, he played detective Rick Sneaden in ''Closing Ranks''. In 1990, Spendlove played the role of Chris Tierney in the ITV television drama series ''TECX''. His role a joint-owner of a detective agency co-starring with actor Urbano Barberini. ''Closer'' is a British tabloid magazine founded in 2005 and published by Bauer Consumer Media. A French language version followed shortly afterwards, and an American edition began publication in 2013. Gordon Collins is a character in the Channel 4 soap-opera ''Brookside''. He was portrayed by Nigel Crowley from the show's debut in 1982 until 1984 and later on by Mark Burgess beginning in 1986 and ending with his departure in 1990. Gordon is notable for being the first openly gay character on a British television soap opera. Alexandra Pigg (born Sandra McKibbin; 1962) is a British actor, actress who first came to prominence as Petra Taylor in the TV soap opera ''Brookside (TV series), Brookside''. Her best-known film appearances are as Elaine in ''Letter to Brezhnev'' (1985), for which she was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, BAFTA award, and as Bridget Baines in ''A Chorus of Disapproval (film), A Chorus of Disapproval'' (1988). Early life Pigg was born as Sandra McKibbin but later changed her name to Alexandra Pigg for her acting career. She is from the Knotty Ash area of Liverpool. Petra Taylor is a fictional character from the British Channel 4 soap opera ''Brookside (TV series), Brookside'', played by Alexandra Pigg. One of the show's original characters, Petra debuted on-screen during the episode broadcast on 23 November 1982. ''Brookside'' is set in Liverpool and Pigg is a Liverpudlian from Knotty Ash. Her casting was announced on 5 October 1982 and she spoke optimistically about joining the show. Petra is characterised as a moody typist working at an insurance office.
