Alan M. Taylor
Alan M. Taylor (born 15 November 1964) is the C. Bryan Cameron Chair in International Economics and Distinguished Professor of Economics and Finance at the University of California, Davis. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a research fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research. In February 2023, Columbia University announced that Taylor will join its faculty as a full professor in January 2024. Early life and career Born and raised in Yorkshire, Taylor attended Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Wakefield, and went up to King's College, Cambridge, on an Open Scholarship. In the Mathematical Tripos he graduated as a Wrangler in 1987 and enrolled at Harvard University on being awarded the Joseph Hodges Choate Memorial Fellowship. Guggenheim Fellowships are grants that have been awarded annually since by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation to those "who have demonstrated exceptional capacity for productive scholarship or exceptional creative ability in the arts." Each year, the foundation issues awards in each of two separate competitions: * One open to citizens and permanent residents of the United States and Canada. * The other to citizens and permanent residents of Latin America and the Caribbean. Maurice Moses "Maury" Obstfeld (born March 19, 1952) is a professor of economics at the University of California, Berkeley and previously Chief Economist at the International Monetary Fund.
