Alan Knipe
Alan Knipe (born January 1, 1969) is the head coach of the Long Beach State 49ers men's volleyball team and head coach of the 2012 Olympic Team United States men's national volleyball team. He played and coached at Long Beach State. As a player, he helped the team win the 1991 NCAA championship and an appearance in the 1990 NCAA Championships. and as a coach, he has guided them to seven final four appearances (2004, 2008, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022) and two national championships (2018, 2019). As a player, assistant coach and head coach, Knipe has helped Long Beach to 10 of the programs 12 NCAA Final four appearances. Playing career Knipe played on the Long Beach State 49ers men's volleyball team from 1990 to 1992. In 1991, he was named to the All-America second team and helped the 49ers win the NCAA championship final. In 1992, he was named to the All-America first team. The 2017 NCAA National Collegiate Volleyball Tournament was the 48th edition of the NCAA Men's National Collegiate Volleyball Championship, open to teams from both Division I and II. The 2016 NCAA Men's National Collegiate Volleyball Tournament was the 47th annual tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA Division I and Division II men's collegiate indoor volleyball. The 2008 NCAA men's volleyball tournament was the 39th annual tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA men's collegiate indoor volleyball. The single elimination tournament was played at the Bren Events Center in Irvine, California during May 2008. Penn State defeated Pepperdine in the final match, 3–1 (27–30, 33–31, 30–25, 30–23), to win their second national title. The Nittany Lions (30–1) were coached by Mark Pavlik. The 2004 NCAA men's volleyball tournament was the 35th annual tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA men's collegiate indoor volleyball. The single elimination tournament was played at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi during May 2004. BYU defeated Long Beach State in the final match, 3–2 (15–30, 30–18, 20–30, 32–30, 19–17), to win their third national title. The Cougars (29–4) were coached by Tom Peterson. Marina High School (Huntington Beach, California)
Marina High School is a public high school located in the northwest corner of Huntington Beach, California which first began operating in 1963. Marina is part of the Huntington Beach Union High School District, which includes several other area high schools. The school is located on Springdale Street between Edinger Avenue and McFadden Avenue. In 2009, the school was named a California Distinguished School, the highest honor given to schools in California.
