Alan Davis
Alan Davis (born 18 June 1956) is an English artist and writer of comic books, known for his work on titles such as ''Captain Britain'', ''The Uncanny X-Men'', ''ClanDestine'', ''Detective Comics'', ''Excalibur'', '' JLA: The Nail'' and '' JLA: Another Nail''. Career UK work Davis began his career in comics on an English fanzine. His first professional work was a strip called ''The Crusader'' in ''Frantic Magazine'' for Dez Skinn's revamped Marvel UK line. Davis's big break was drawing the revamped Captain Britain story in '' Marvel Superheroes''. At the time, he was working full-time in a warehouse in Corby doing work that included loading trucks. Corby
Corby is a town in North Northamptonshire, England, located north-east of Northampton. From 1974 to 2021, the town served as the administrative headquarters of the Borough of Corby. At the 2011 Census, the built-up area had a population of 56,810, while the borough, which was abolished in 2021, had a population of 75,571 in 2021. Figures released in March 2010 revealed that Corby had the fastest growing population in both Northamptonshire and the whole of England. The town was at one time known locally as "Little Scotland" due to the large number of Scottish workers who came to Corby for its steelworks. Recently, Corby has undergone a large regeneration process with the opening of Corby railway station and Corby International Pool in 2009 and the Corby Cube in 2010. Founded in 2003 and published eight times yearly, it features articles and art about comic books from the 1970s to the present. Edited by former comics writer and editor Michael Eury, the magazine was conceived as a replacement for '' Comic Book Artist'', which editor and owner Jon B. Cooke had taken from TwoMorrows to a different publishing house in 2002. Writers for the series include Mark Arnold, Michael Aushenker, Glenn Greenberg, George Khoury, Andy Mangels, and Richard A. Todd McFarlane
Todd McFarlane (; born March 16, 1961) is a Canadian comic book creator, artist, writer, filmmaker and entrepreneur, best known for his work as the artist on ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' and as the creator, writer, and artist on the superhero horror-fantasy series ''Spawn (comics), Spawn.'' In the late 1980s and early 1990s, McFarlane became a comic book superstar due to his work on Marvel Comics' ''Spider-Man'' franchise, on which he was the artist to draw the first full appearances of the character Venom (Marvel Comics character), Venom. In 1992, he helped form Image Comics, pulling the occult anti-hero character Spawn (comics), Spawn from his high school portfolio and updating him for the 1990s. The direct market is the dominant distribution and retail network for American comic books. The concept of the direct market was created in the 1970s by Phil Seuling. James N. Aparo (August 24, 1932 – July 19, 2005) was an American comic book artist, best known for his DC Comics work from the late 1960s through the 1990s, including on the characters Batman, Aquaman, and the Spectre, along with famous stories such as ''The Brave and the Bold,'' "A Death in the Family"'''', and "KnightFall". Early life Jim Aparo was born on August 24th, 1932, Aparo was raised in New Britain, Connecticut, Aparo took art classes at New Britain high school and while also taking courses at Hartford Art School. Batman And The Outsiders
The Outsiders are a superhero team appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. As their name suggests, the team consists of superheroes who do not fit the norms of the "mainstream" superhero community, i.e. the Justice League. The Outsiders have had a number of different incarnations. They were founded by Batman, whose ties to the League had become strained at the time, and introduced the now-classic line-up of Batman, Black Lightning, Metamorpho, Geo-Force, Katana, Halo and Looker. A later incarnation of the Outsiders from the early 2000s comics was led by Nightwing and Arsenal following the dissolution of the Teen Titans superhero group, and depicted the team as a pro-active group hunting for supercriminals.
