Alan Conway
Alan Eddie Conway (10 July 1934 – 5 December 1998) was an English conman, best known for impersonating film director Stanley Kubrick. Conway and his wife were travel agents with offices in Harrow and Muswell Hill. Early years Alan Conway was born Eddie Alan Jablowsky in Whitechapel London on 10 July 1934. At the age of 13 he was sent to a borstal for theft. Around that time, he began frequently changing his name and fabricating various personal histories: among other stories, he told people he was a Polish Jew who had been imprisoned in a Nazi concentration camp. During the 1980s, Conway left his wife for a male lover, who later died of AIDS. Conway's business soon collapsed and he descended into alcoholism. Conman
A confidence trick is an attempt to defraud a person or group after first gaining their trust. Confidence tricks exploit victims using their credulity, naïveté, compassion, vanity, confidence, irresponsibility, and greed. Anthony Frewin
Anthony Edward Frewin (born 1947 in Kentish Town, London) is a British writer and erstwhile personal assistant to film director Stanley Kubrick (from 1965 to 1968, and from 1979 to 1999). Frewin now represents the Stanley Kubrick Estate. His novel ''London Blues'' has been described as "masterful". Personal Anthony Edward Frewin and his brother Mark David Frewin are the sons of Edward Albert Frewin (b. 1921) and Ruby Jean Weeks (b. 1924, m. 1944). Frewin's ex-partner is Charlene Page, and they have a son, Nick Frewin (b. 1971). A ''modus operandi'' (often shortened to M.O.) is someone's habits of working, particularly in the context of business or criminal investigations, but also more generally. David Hampton
David Hampton (April 28, 1964 – July 18, 2003) was an American con artist and robber who became infamous in the 1980s after he convinced a group of wealthy Manhattanites to give him money, food, and shelter under the pretense that he was the son of Sidney Poitier. David Hampton's story became the inspiration for a play titled "Six Degrees of Separation" and a film titled by the same name. David Hampton died of AIDS-related complications in 2003. Background Hampton was born in Buffalo, New York, and was the eldest son of an attorney. He moved to New York City (NYC) in 1981 and stumbled upon his now-famous ruse in 1983, when he and another man were attempting to gain entry into Studio 54.
