Alan Campbell (rower)
Alan W Campbell (born 9 May 1983) is a British sculler. Biography Alan Campbell was born in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, and started rowing for his school, Coleraine Academical Institution for Boys. ON leaving, he joined Bann Rowing Club Coleraine. Years later he then left for London and joined Tideway Scullers School. In 2003, Campbell left his degree and won the Diamond Sculls at Henley Royal Regatta. He then made his international debut at the World U23 Championships in 2003, where he was forced to switch from the double to the single sculls five days before the regatta when his sculling partner became ill. Despite this he finished 8th. He competed in the quadruple sculls at the 2004 Summer Olympics, finishing in 12th place. In 2005, Campbell won the men's single at the GB Selection Trials, and raced in the men's quad for the World Cup series, winning the bronze at Lucerne regatta. Coleraine
Coleraine ( ; from ga, Cúil Rathain , 'nook of the ferns'Flanaghan, Deirdre & Laurence; ''Irish Place Names'', page 194. Gill & Macmillan, 2002. ) is a town and civil parish near the mouth of the River Bann in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It is northwest of Belfast and east of Derry, both of which are linked by major roads and railway connections. It is part of Causeway Coast and Glens district. Description Coleraine had a population of 24,634 people in the 2011 Census. The North Coast (Coleraine and Limavady) area has the highest property prices in Northern Ireland, higher even than those of affluent South Belfast. Alexander Mahé Owens Drysdale (born 19 November 1978) is a retired New Zealand rower. Drysdale is a two-time Olympic champion and a five-time world champion in the single sculls. He is a seven-time New Zealand national champion and five-time recipient of New Zealand Sportsman of the Year. Olaf Tufte
Olaf Karl Tufte (born 27 April 1976 in Tønsberg) is a Norwegian representative rower, firefighter and farmer. He is a seven time Olympian, and as a single sculler he was twice the Olympic champion and twice the world champion. He's been consistently selected in the Norwegian men's senior national rowing squad since 1996 including his selection as a 2021 Tokyo Olympian where he made his seventh Olympic appearance racing in a quad scull for Norway. Early rowing career Tufte started rowing at aged 17, initially as a means to improve his handle on motor cross. He rows from the Horten Roklubb in Horten, Vestfold on the Oslofjord. He quickly displayed an aptitude for the sport and one year later in 1994, he debuted internationally for Norway rowing a single scull at the 1994 Junior World Rowing Championships.
