Alamo Heights Independent School District
Alamo Heights Independent School District is a school district based in Alamo Heights, Texas ( USA). Alamo Heights ISD also serves Olmos Park, most of Terrell Hills, and a small portion of San Antonio. History The Alamo Heights Independent School District traces its history from the year 1909 when the first school, a two-room wooden frame building on Townsend Avenue, was built in this picturesque area as part of a rural county district. A new school building of masonry was later constructed on the site that is now Cambridge Elementary School. In 1923, just one year after the high school building was added to the growing campus, the Alamo Heights system became an independent school district of 300 students. While the hub of activity for Alamo Heights students centered at Cambridge until the 1950s, the district branched out into the neighboring community at the former cement plant near Jones-Maltsberger Road, also called "Cementville." Known as the "Bluebonnet School, " the A ...

Independent School District
An independent school district (ISD) is a type of school district in some US states for primary and secondary education that operates as an entity independent and separate from any municipality or county, and only under the oversight of the respective state government. As such, the administrative leadership of such districts is selected from within the district itself and has no direct responsibility to any other governmental authority. This independence normally also implies that the district has its own taxing authority that is outside the direct control of other governmental entities. The state of Texas has by far the largest number of independent school districts, with almost all of its districts falling into this category ( Stafford Municipal School District being the notable exception). The term ''independent'' may be used to describe other types of school districts, though this is less common. The use of the term ''independent'' can vary in actual application in those sta ...

Super Bowl
The Super Bowl is the annual final playoff game of the National Football League (NFL) to determine the league champion. It has served as the final game of every NFL season since 1966, replacing the NFL Championship Game. Since 2022, the game is played on the second Sunday in February. Prior Super Bowls were played on Sundays in early to mid-January from 1967 to 1978, late January from 1979 to 2003, and the first Sunday of February from 2004 to 2021. Winning teams are awarded the Vince Lombardi Trophy, named for the coach who won the first two Super Bowls. Due to the NFL restricting use of its "Super Bowl" trademark, it is frequently referred to as the "big game" or other generic terms by non-sponsoring corporations. The day the game is played is often referred to as "Super Bowl Sunday" or simply "Super Sunday". The game was created as part of a 1966 merger agreement between the NFL and the competing American Football League (AFL) to have their best teams compete for a champi ...

List Of School Districts In Texas
This is a list of school districts in Texas, sorted by Region and County. Geographical school districts in Texas are (with one exception, the Stafford Municipal School District) completely independent from city or county jurisdiction. Texas school district boundaries are not always aligned with county or city boundaries; a district can occupy several counties and cities, while a single city (especially larger ones such as Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio) may be split between several districts. Almost all Texas school districts use the title "Independent School District", or ISD. Except for Stafford, those few districts that do not have "ISD" in their names are nonetheless ISDs. This list does not include: *Juvenile prison schools run by the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (formerly by the Texas Youth Commission) *Schools and school systems without campuses or local taxing districts, such as the Texas Tech University Independent School District *Public charter schools It doe ...
