Battle Of The Alamo
The Battle of the Alamo (February 23 – March 6, 1836) was a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. Following a 13-day siege, Mexican troops under President General Antonio López de Santa Anna reclaimed the Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Béxar (modern-day San Antonio, Texas, United States), killing most of the occupants inside. Santa Anna's refusal to take prisoners during the battle inspired many Texians and Tejanos to join the Texian Army. Motivated by a desire for revenge, as well as their written desire to preserve a border open to immigration and the importation and practice of slavery, the Texians defeated the Mexican Army at the Battle of San Jacinto, on April 21, 1836, ending the rebellion in favor of the newly formed Republic of Texas. Several months previously, Texians, who were primarily recent immigrants from USA, had killed or driven all Mexican troops out of Mexican Texas. About 100 Texians were then garrisoned at the Alamo. Yomar Álamo
Yomar Álamo (born 6 March 1995) is a Puerto Rican professional boxer who has held the WBO– NABO light welterweight title since 2019. As of June 2020, he is ranked as the world's sixth best active light welterweight by the WBO. Professional career Álamo made his professional debut on 27 April 2013, defeating Carlos Acevedo via first-round technical knockout (TKO) in under a minute in Caguas, Puerto Rico. He signed an exclusive promotional contract with Miguel Cotto Promotions and H2 Entertainment the following month, although he would soon switch to Carlos Maldonado's Black Tiger Promotions. The Alamo Christian Foundation was an American cult founded in 1969 by Christian evangelist Tony Alamo and one of his wives, Susan Alamo. Susan Alamo died in April 1982. After years of legal troubles during which he was accused of engaging in abusive behavior against his followers, Alamo was convicted of ten child rape offenses in 2009. He remained in prison until his death in May 2017. Founders Tony Alamo (1934–2017) was born Bernie Lazar Hoffman to a Jewish family. In the 1960s, he worked in Hollywood as a pop singer under the names Mark Hoffman and Marcus Abad. Also he owned the Little Mark, Alamo, and Talamo Records record labels.
