Alacranes Del Norte
Alacranes del Norte (formerly known as ''Nejapa Fútbol Club'') was a football club based in Chalatenango, El Salvador. The club last played in the Segunda División. In January 2011, it was announced that the Alacranes del Norte license had been removed by the Segunda División, following financial difficulties for the owner, Mynor Vargas and the failure of attempts to find a new ownership group. History Nejapa Fútbol Club Nejapa Fútbol Clube was formed on July 2002, thanks to collaboration with both the municipal council of Nejapa (without community collaboration) and the University of El Salvador (UES). When the equipment of the UES obtained a licence to play in the Second Division their representatives contacted René Canjura, mayor of Nejapa, to know if the town was interested in acquiring the space in the Third Division. Estadio José Gregorio Martínez
The Estadio José Gregorio Martínez is a multi-use stadium located in the city of Chalatenango, El Salvador. Specifically in the Km 72 ½ mile of the road leading from San Salvador to the provincial capital, is used for football, where the local team Chalatenango plays. History The history of the stadium goes back to the 1970s, where the land which had been former farm called Totolco was acquired by the CEL and which would later be transferred to José Gregorio Martínez, the founder of Chalatenango. Martínez was a close friend of General Carlos Humberto Romero, who at that time was the president of El Salvador, and with his assistance a new stadium was built. The idea was to create a multi sport complex, which included a football stadium, basketball courts and swimming pools, however, the last of these failed to be completed since Romero was ousted from the presidency in October 1979 and funding was lost. Nelson Mauricio Ancheta Flores (born 30 July 1963 in Chalchuapa) is a former Salvadoran professional football player and currently manager. Playing career Nelson Ancheta began his career playing at Universidad Católica de El Salvador during his youth. José Mauricio Cienfuegos (born 12 February 1968) is a Salvadoran former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Club career Cienfuegos began his professional career in 1985 with Racing Junior. He played the next two seasons for Soyapango, and then moved to Luís Ángel Firpo, where he would play for four years. Cienfuegos moved to Mexico to play for Atlético Morelia in the 1991, and then signed with Santos in 1992. However, after just one season at Santos Laguna, Cienfuegos became unhappy with how he was being used at the club and decided to try his luck in Europe. In the summer of 1993, he had trials with Swiss champions Servette and La Liga side Lleida. Juan Carlos Panameño Sifón (born April 12, 1977 in San Salvador, El Salvador) is a Salvadoran footballer Club career Nicknamed ''La Brujita'' (the little witch), Panameño came through the youth ranks at ADET and made his senior debut in 1998. In 2000, he had a short spell at Luis Ángel Firpo and when ADET sold him to Alianza he did not want to join them but instead trained with FAS, thus possibly disabling himself to play at the start of the 2001 Apertura. He finally joined FAS for whom he made his debut in a September 2001 4-0 win over Dragón. Emiliano José Pedrozo Cantarero (born July 6, 1972 in Argentina) is a former Argentine-born Salvadoran professional football player and currently manager. Club career Born in Argentina, Pedrozo joined his fellow countrymen Dionel Bordón and Marcelo Bauza at Salvadoran side FAS in 1994. In sports leagues, promotion and relegation is a process where teams are transferred between multiple divisions based on their performance for the completed season. Leagues that use promotion and relegation systems are often called open leagues. The Clausura 2010 season (officially known as ''Torneo Clausura 2010'') was the 24th edition of the Primera División de Fútbol Profesional since its establishment of an Apertura and Clausura format. Isidro Metapán won the tournament, claiming their fourth title in history. The season began on January 9, 2010 and concluded on May 23, 2010. FAS were the defending champions, having won the Apertura 2009 and clinching the first of two salvadoran spots for the 2010–11 CONCACAF Champions League. Isidro Metapán clinched the other spot.
