State Route 79 (SR 79) is a state highway that extends northeastward from Birmingham to the Tennessee state line. Prior to the completion of Interstate 65 (I-65), SR 79 was the southern part of the route that connected Birmingham and Huntsville. The southern terminus of SR 79 is at an interchange of Tallapoosa Street with I-20/I-59 (exit 128) near Birmingham–Shuttlesworth International Airport. Prior to the completion of I-20/I-59, the terminus of SR 79 was at an intersection with US 31, US 78, and US 280 at the intersection of 8th Avenue North and 24th Street in downtown Birmingham. State Route 35 (SR 35) is a state highway in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Alabama. The southern terminus of the highway is at its intersection with SR 9 in rural Cherokee County northeast of Cedar Bluff and near the Georgia state line. State Route 227 (SR 227) is a route that serves as a connection between the Etowah–DeKalb county line south of Crossville with U.S. Route 431 (US 431) at Guntersville in Marshall County. Alabama State Route 69
State Route 69 (SR 69) is a state highway that extends from the southwestern to the northeastern parts of the U.S. state of Alabama. The southern terminus of the highway is at an intersection with SR 177 at Jackson. The northern terminus of the highway is at an intersection with US 431/ SR 79 at Guntersville. Route description SR 69 has a rather irregular trajectory for much of its length. From its southern terminus at Jackson, the highway heads to the northwest as it travels through Clarke County. Black Warrior River
The Black Warrior River is a waterway in west-central Alabama in the southeastern United States. The river rises in the extreme southern edges of the Appalachian Highlands and flows 178 miles (286 km) to the Tombigbee River, of which the Black Warrior is the primary tributary. The river is named after the Mississippian culture, Mississippian paramount chief Chief Tuskaloosa, Tuskaloosa, whose name was Muskogean languages, Muskogean for 'Black Warrior'.
