Crawford is an unincorporated community in Russell County, Alabama, United States. Crawford is located at the junction of U.S. Route 80 and Alabama State Route 169, west of Ladonia. It was the second county seat of Russell County from 1839 to 1868 before it removed to Seale. Crawford had a record population of 3,276 in the 2021 Census. State Route 51 (SR 51) is a state highway in the southeastern and east-central parts of the U.S. state of Alabama. The southern terminus of the highway is at an intersection with U.S. Route 84 (US 84) near New Brockton. The northern terminus of the highway is at an interchange with I-85/US 29/ US 280 at Opelika. A concurrency in a road network is an instance of one physical roadway bearing two or more different route numbers. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons.
