State Route 123 (SR 123) is a state highway that serves Geneva, Houston, and Dale counties as a connection between Hartford, Ozark, and Ariton. SR 123 intersects SR 167 and Geneva County Route 61 (CR 61) at its southern terminus, south of Hartford and US 231 at its northern terminus, west of Ariton. Route description SR 123 begins at an intersection with SR 167 just south of Hartford. The roadway continues as Geneva CR 61. From this point, the highway travels in a northerly direction where it intersects SR 52 in the central business district of Hartford. From Hartford, SR 123 travels in a northeasterly direction before turning to the north upon entering Houston County and intersecting SR 103. State Route 103 (SR 103) is a state highway in the southeastern part of the U.S. state of Alabama. The highway begins at the Florida state line and is a continuation of County Road 171 (formerly a state road). The northern terminus of the highway is at an intersection with SR 123 in Wicksburg, an unincorporated community north of the Geneva–Houston County line. Route description SR 103 travels primarily through eastern Geneva County. It is one of numerous highways that enter Alabama from the Florida Panhandle. State Route 53 (SR 53) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Alabama. The majority, between Dothan and Huntsville, is signed as U.S. Route 231 (US 231), but the two ends – south to Florida and north to I-65/ US 31 near Tennessee – are independent. In those areas, US 231 uses SR 1, sharing the route with US 431 north of Huntsville, where it is referred to as Memorial Parkway. Bonifay, Florida
Bonifay is a city in Holmes County, Florida, Holmes County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 United States Census, 2020 census, the population was 2,759. It is the county seat of Holmes County. Bonifay was founded in 1882 when the Pensacola and Atlantic Railroad was built across the Florida Panhandle, and was named by P&A executive William Dudley Chipley, W. D. Chipley for Frank Bonifay, member of a prominent family who had a brickmaking factory in Pensacola, where the P&A was headquartered. Frank Bonifay bought a stake in the P&A, which in 1891 was merged into the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, which after several more mergers became part of CSX Transportation in 1986. Fort Rucker is a U.S. Army post located primarily in Dale County, Alabama, United States. It was named for a Civil War officer, Confederate General Edmund Rucker. The post is the primary flight training installation for U.S. Army Aviators and is home to the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE) and the United States Army Aviation Museum. Small sections of the post also lie in Coffee, Geneva, and Houston counties. Part of the Dale County section of the base is a census-designated place; its population was 4,636 at the 2010 census. The main post has entrances from three bordering cities, Daleville, Ozark and Enterprise. Newton, Alabama
Newton is a town in Dale County, Alabama, United States. At the 2010 census its population was 1,511. Once the county seat of Dale County, Newton lost this distinction to nearby Ozark in 1870, and is now a small farming community. It incorporated in 1887. When two roadways share the same right-of-way, it is sometimes called a common section or commons. State Route 134 (SR 134) is an east-west state route located in Covington, Coffee, Dale, Henry, and Houston counties in Alabama. It loosely parallels U.S. Route 84 (US 84) between Opp and the Chattahoochee River. Route description The route begins at US 331/US 84 along the Opp Bypass. It heads east into southern Coffee County, intersecting SR 189 and SR 87 en route to Enterprise. Upon reaching Enterprise, it does not follow Boll Weevil Circle around Enterprise but instead continues through the city via Damascus Rd, Main St, and East Park Ave. Between Enterprise and Daleville, it is concurrent with US 84, crossing into Dale County en route.
