Alaa Najjar ( ar, علاء نجار) is a physician, Wikipedian and Internet activism, internet activist, who was named the Wikimedian of the Year at Wikimania in August 2021 by Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales for his pioneering role in the development of the Arab and medical communities as well as for his role in the development of COVID-19 topics. With the Wikipedia username (), Najjar is an active contributor to WikiProject Medicine and a volunteer administrator in the Arabic Wikipedia and a Wikimedia steward. He is a board member of Wikimedians of the Levant User Group and an editorial board member of the WikiJournal of Medicine. Alexandria University
Alexandria University ( ar, جامعة الإسكندرية) is a public university in Alexandria, Egypt. It was established in 1938 as a satellite of Fouad University (the name of which was later changed to Cairo University), becoming an independent entity in 1942. It was known as Farouk University until the 1952 when its name was changed to the University of Alexandria. Taha Hussein was the founding rector of Alexandria University.
