Al Oruba Sur
Al-Orouba Sporting Club ( ar, نادي العروبة الرياضي ; also known locally as ''Al-Marid'', or "The Giant(s)", or just plainly as Al-Orouba) is an Omani sports club based in Sur, Oman. The club is currently playing in the Oman Professional League, top division of Oman Football Association. Their home ground is Sur Sports Complex. The stadium is government owned, but they also own their own personal stadium and sports equipments, as well as their own training facilities. The club also participated in AFC Cup, in continental stages. History The club was actually formed in 1956 in Kuwait and the name given was Al-Ahli. The first chairman of the club was late Sheikh Saleh Nasser Al-Hashar. In 1970, when His Majesty Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said al Said rose to power many Omanis came back and settled in Oman. The Sur Sports Complex Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Sur, Oman. It is used mostly for football matches and also sometimes for athletics. Sultan Qaboos Cup
The Sultan Qaboos Cup ( ar, كأس السلطان قابوس), also known as the HM's Cup, is Oman's premier knockout tournament for men's football. It was officially created in 1972 and the champions of that edition were Al-Ahli. Shortly known as Oman cup. Currently the most successful club in the league is Dhofar with a total of ten titles to their name, with the latest win at the 2020-2021 season. Sponsorship On 4 March 2015, Oman's leading financial services provider, BankMuscat agreed to come on board as the Presenting Partner for the 2014–15 Sultan Qaboos Cup. The 2004–05 Omani League was the 29th edition of the top football league in Oman. It began on 23 September 2004 and finished on 19 May 2005. Al-Nasr S.C.S.C. were the defending champions, having won the previous 2003–04 Omani League season. The 2014–15 Oman Professional League (known as the ''Omantel Professional League'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 39th edition of the top football league in Oman. The season began on 11 September 2014, and concluded on 28 May 2015. Al-Nahda Club were the defending champions, having won their third title in the previous 2013–14 season.
