The Medina Province ( ar, مِنْطَقَة ٱلْمَدِيْنَة ٱلْمُنَوَّرَة, Minṭaqat Al-Madīnah Al-Munawarah) is a province ('' minṭaqah'') of Saudi Arabia, located on the country's western side, along the Red Sea coast. It has an area of and a population of 2,132,679 (2017 Census) subdivided into seven '' Muḥafaẓat'' (Governorates): The regional capital is Medina, the second-holiest city in Islam. Other cities in the province include Yanbu' al Bahr and Badr Hunayn. It also contains Mada'in Saleh, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Provinces of Saudi Arabia, also known as Regions, and officially the Emirates of the Provinces of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (), are the 13 first-level administrative divisions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Abdulaziz Bin Majid
Abdulaziz bin Majid Al Saud (born 1960) is the former governor of Madinah Province and a member of House of Saud. Early life and education Prince Abdulaziz was born in 1960. He is Majid bin Abdulaziz's second son. Abdulaziz's mother is Nuf bint Abdallah Al Fahd Al Muhanna. He is the full brother of Prince Mishaal, and he also has five sisters. One of his sisters, Jawaher bint Majid, is the first Saudi woman to have been granted the title of the patron of arts in Saudi Arabia. Abdul Majeed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ( ar, عبد المجيد بن عبد العزيز آل سعود, ʿAbd al Majīd bin ʿAbd al ʿAzīz ʾĀl Suʿūd) (1942 5 May 2007) was a Saudi Arabian politician and businessman who served successively as the governor of the Tabuk, Medina, and Mecca provinces between 1980 and 2007. A prominent member of the House of Saud, Abdul Majeed was seen as a close ally of King Abdullah, but was also regarded as a long-time ally of the Sudairi Seven. Early life and education Prince Abdul Majeed was born in Riyadh in 1942 as the 33rd son of King Abdulaziz. There is another report giving his birth year as 1941.
