Al-Malihah Subdistrict
Malihah Subdistrict ( ar, ناحية المليحة, Nāḥiyah al-Mulayḥa) is a subdistrict of Markaz Rif Dimashq District in the Rif Dimashq Governorate of Syria. The administrative centre is the town of al-Malihah. Neighbouring subdistricts are Kafr Batna to the north, Jaramana and Babbila to the west, Nashabieh and al-Ghizlaniyah to the east. At the 2004 census, the subdistrict had a population of 56,652. Al-Nashabiyah ( ar, النشابية, also spelled Nashabieh) is a town in southern Syria, administratively part of the Rif Dimashq Governorate, located 19 kilometers east of Damascus city. Battle Of Al-Malihah
The Battle of Al-Malihah was a battle in the Rif Dimashq Governorate during the Syrian Civil War. Battle On 3 April, the Syrian Arab Army launched a "large-scale military operation" in a bid to capture the rebel-held town of Al-Malihah and several surrounding towns and villages southeast of Damascus. Pro-government sources blamed the rebels for rejecting a truce offer and also for holding a local reconciliation committee captive. The Army also stepped up its operations in the Jobar neighborhood. By the next day, 26 rebels were killed by the clashes and air raids. Between 3 April and 3 May, rebels launched several mortar shells on Damascus, killing a total of 11 people according to state media. Free Syrian Army
The Free Syrian Army (FSA) ( ar, الجيش السوري الحر, al-jaysh as-Sūrī al-ḥur) is a loose faction in the Syrian Civil War founded on 29 July 2011 by officers of the Syrian Armed Forces with the goal of bringing down the government of Bashar al-Assad.
