Al-Bahri Sport Club ( ar, نادي البحري الرياضي, lit=''Navy Club'') is an Iraqi football team based in Al-Jubaila, Basra, arrived twice to the semi-final in Iraq FA Cup. In 1990, the Iraqi Defense Ministry dissolved the club within its decision to dissolve all Iraqi military clubs, the club was playing in the Iraqi Premier League, then it was reconstituted. History Al-Bahri were founded in 1976, and in only their second season in existence, they reached the semifinals of the 1977–78 Iraq FA Cup, beating the reigning champions at the time ( Al-Zawra'a) on the way, however they withdrew from the semifinal and handed their opponents Al-Tayaran a 3–0 victory. Al-Bahri Stadium
Al-Bahri Stadium ( ar, ملعب البحري) is a football specific stadium in Basra, Iraq. It is the new home of Al-Bahri SC, currently playing in the Iraq Division One. The stadium has a capacity of 7,000 spectators, fully seated and all sheltered. Notable events The stadium was inaugurated on 16 March 2022, with a friendly match between Al-Bahri SC and Al-Mina'a SC. 1990–91 Iraqi National League
The 1990–91 Iraqi National Clubs First Division was the 17th season of the competition since its foundation in 1974. The league title was won by Al-Zawraa for the first time since the 1978–79 season. They also won the Iraq FA Cup to complete the double. At the halfway stage of the season, the Ministry of Defence decided to dissolve its teams (including Al-Tayaran, Al-Jaish and Al-Bahri) as part of cutbacks following the Gulf War. After protests from supporters, Al-Tayaran were brought back within less than two weeks but under the new name of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya (meaning Air Force), which was the name the club had used prior to 1974. Also at the halfway stage of the season, Erbil withdrew from the competition due to the 1991 uprisings in Iraq, so the Iraq U19 team was brought in to play the remaining half of the season. Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship
The Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship, previously the AVC Cup Men's Club Tournament (between 1999–2002), is an annual continental club volleyball competition organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the sport's continental governing body. The competition was first contested in 1999 in China. It was not held in 2003 and 2020 due to 2002–2004 SARS outbreak and COVID-19 pandemic respectively. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. The complete set of rules is extensive, but play essentially proceeds as follows: a player on one of the teams begins a 'rally' by serving the ball (tossing or releasing it and then hitting it with a hand or arm), from behind the back boundary line of the court, over the net, and into the receiving team's court.
