Al-Ahli Sports Club ( ar, النادي الأهلي الرياضي الأردني), is one of the oldest clubs in Jordan based in Amman, established in 1944 by a group of pioneers who helped in setting the groundwork of sport, social, and cultural life in Jordan. History The club was founded in 1944 under the Circassians name Koban club. The name (Al Ahli) was honorably given by the late King Abdullah Bin al Hussein I. Stadium Al-Ahli plays their home games at Amman International Stadium in Amman. The stadium was built on 1964 and opened on 1968, it is owned by The Jordanian government and operated by The higher council of youth. It is also the home stadium of Jordan national football team, Al-Jazeera and Al-Faisaly. It has a current capacity of 17,619 spectators. Amman International Stadium
The Amman International Stadium ( ar, ستاد عمان الدولي) is a stadium in Al-Hussein City, Amman, Jordan. It is the largest stadium in Jordan. The stadium was built in 1964 and opened in 1968. It is owned by the Government of Jordan and operated by the Higher Council of Youth. It is also the home stadium of the Jordan national football team and Al-Faisaly SC. It has a current capacity of 17,619 spectators. Usage In addition to Jordan's home games, the stadium hosts other major games in Jordanian football as well including the Jordanian Pro League, Jordan FA Cup, Jordan FA Shield and Jordan Super Cup games. Jordan League
The Jordanian Pro League ( ar, الدوري الأردني للمحترفين) is a Jordanian professional league for men's football clubs and represents the top flight of Jordanian football. The championship consists of twelve competing teams in a home and away league system. The league not held in the years : 1948, 1953, 1957, 1958, 1967, 1968, 1969, and not finished in the 1998 in 2002 the league change calendar to a fall spring season. In 2020 the league return to a spring fall season. Competition format Competition There are 12 clubs in the Premier League. During the course of a season (from March to October) each club plays the others twice (a double round-robin system), once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents', for 22 games. AFC Cup
The AFC Cup is an annual continental club football competition organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Under its current rules, the competition is played primarily between clubs from nations that did not receive direct qualifying slots in the top-tier AFC Champions League, based on the AFC Club Competitions Ranking. Al-Kuwait SC and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya are the most successful clubs in the competition's history, having won three titles each. 2015–16 Jordan FA Cup
The 2015–16 Jordan FA Cup was the 36th season of Jordan FA Cup since its establishment in 1980. It started on 4 September 2015 and ended on 6 May 2016. Al-Wehdat were the defending champions, but they were eliminated in the round of 16. The winner of the competition will earn a spot in the 2017 AFC Cup.
