''Aktuellt'' (literally "current; topical" or "actual") is a Swedish nightly news programme produced by Sveriges Television (SVT) and broadcast on its second channel, SVT2 in Sweden. It was first broadcast on 2 September 1958. With the start of TV 2 (forerunner of SVT2) in 1969, the ''Aktuellt'' brand disappeared but was revived in 1972 when TV1 began airing two main bulletins at 6pm and 9pm. The 6pm bulletin was moved to SVT2 in 1997, followed on 15 January 2001 by the 9pm edition. The year before, editorial responsibility for ''Aktuellt'', ''Rapport'' (SVT1's news programme), and SVT's news channel, SVT24, was unified; nevertheless, the name "Aktuellt" continues to be used to designate SVT2's news programmes. A relaunch of ''Aktuellt'' in November 2007 saw ''Rapport'' begin a 6pm bulletin on SVT1 while the sole 9pm ''Aktuellt'' programme relaunched as an in-depth news and current affairs programme, covering two of three main items in detail. Sveriges Television AB ("Sweden's Television Stock Company"), shortened to SVT (), is the Sweden, Swedish national public broadcasting, public television broadcaster, funded by a public service tax on personal income set by the Riksdag (national parliament). Prior to 2019, SVT was funded by a television licence fee payable by all owners of television sets. The Swedish public broadcasting system is largely modelled after the system used in the United Kingdom, and Sveriges Television shares many traits with its British counterpart, the BBC. Rapport (news Programme)
''Rapport'' ("Report") is one of the two main news programmes from the Swedish television broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT). ''Rapports main bulletin is broadcast every day at 19:30 on SVT1. It runs for thirty minutes every day except Saturday, when it runs for fifteen minutes. Ever since the 1970s, it has been the most watched news bulletin in Sweden. A shorter version of the show is aired weekdays at 18:00 as part of a thirty-minute bloc on SVT1 that includes ''Kulturnyheterna'' (culture and entertainment news) and Sportnytt (sport news). On weekends the 18:00 edition runs on SVT1 for fifteen minutes. Since 2005, the show has usually been presented by Katarina Sandström, Lisbeth Åkerman and Morgan Olofsson. SVT24
SVT24, stylized as svt24, formerly known as SVT 24 (then stylized svt 24) or 24 is a Swedish language TV channel broadcast by Sveriges Television (SVT). It started broadcasting in 1999 as a dedicated news channel. In 2003 it extended its scope to include other current events-related programmes and sports at the weekend. Nowadays the channel mainly consists of news, sports and entertainment programmes with a focus on reruns from SVT1 and SVT2. History On 15 March 1999 at 13:15 the broadcasting of SVT24 started. It started with a news summary followed by an official opening by the CEO of SVT. In the beginning, SVT24 simulcasted with other channels a lot of the time, first on SVT2 and in the summer on SVT1. Anna Hedenmo
Anna Birgitta Hedenmo, née Olsson (born 21 March 1961) is a Swedes, Swedish journalist and television presenter who has worked for Sveriges Television, SVT since 1993. She is best known as the presenter of Agenda (Swedish TV program), Agenda and the interview show Min Sanning. She has as well been a news reader for Rapport and Aktuellt. During the 2010 and 2014 General Election in Sweden she and Mats Knutson presented the traditional party leaders interrogations as well as the final debate with all the party leaders. Claes Elfsberg
Claes-Gösta Elfsberg (born 26 November 1948) is a Swedish television journalist. Elfsberg grew up in the district of Svedmyra in southern Stockholm. He received his upper-secondary education at Norra Real in Stockholm and then studied at the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication (JMK) at Stockholm University, from where he dropped out to work as a trainee at the daily news program '' Rapport'' at Sveriges Television (SVT) in 1971. He presented the programme for the first time in 1975 and then worked as a news presenter for over thirty years, eventually earning the nickname "Mr. Rapport". He temporarily left ''Rapport'' in 2003 to host the interview program ''24 minuter'' on the SVT channel SVT24. He has also presented the SVT program '' Dokument utifrån''. Mona Walter
Mona Walter (born 1973) is a Swedish activist and social commentator. She was born in Mogadishu, Somalia and moved to Sweden as a refugee in 1994. Raised Muslim, Walter converted to Christianity and published writings critical of Islam via her social media accounts and in press articles. Her opinions on the threat she believes Islam poses to the Western world have caused controversy. Her analyses of Islam have been considered "anti-Muslim, Islamophobic, or racist in nature" by both Muslims and non-Muslims.
