Aksu, Giresun
Aksu is the name of a small village (köy in Turkish), located in the upper basin of the Aksu Deresi stream in Dereli district of Giresun Province. Aksu Festival Aksu Şenliği (''Aksu Festival'') is an annual arts and culture festival organized by Giresun, Giresun Municipality between 20 May and 23 May. This event is held in the mouth of Aksu Deresi in the east of Giresun's city center. Until 1977 it was celebrated as a provincial level conviviality with the name “Mayıs Yedisi (May 7)”. May 7, based on the Arabic Hegire Calendar (the equivalent of May 20 in the Julian day), is considered an ancient fest day that has a special meaning in Turkish traditions. In this date, some Shamanistic rituals are realized by the local people. The name of Mayıs Yedisi was replaced with ''Aksu Festivali'' (''Festival of Aksu'') in 1992, and it was celebrated as a national level festival. Aksu Deresi
Aksu is one of the main water streams of Giresun Province in the eastern Black Sea Region of Turkey. Its name is Turkish for "white water". Description Aksu Deresi rises in Karagöl, a rural highland area located very near to provincial borders of Giresun, Ordu and Sivas provinces. Karagöl is a chain of mountains which is part of the Giresun mountains, in the south of Dereli district of Giresun, and its summit is 3107 meters high. There is a crater lake on its summit, at above sea level. The Aksu creek flows down to the Black Sea passing Kızıltaş, Sarıyakup, and Güdül Güdül is a rural town and district of Ankara Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey, 90 km north-west of the city of Ankara, off the motorway to Istanbul.
