Akiko Kobayashi (chemist)
Professor is a Japanese chemist born in Tokyo. She is the designer and creator of Ni(tmdt)2, the world's first single-component molecular metal. Biography Kobayashi was born in 1943. Her mother was a musician and her father was a physicist. Kobayashi graduated with a B.Sc from the University of Tokyo, Department of Chemistry in 1967 and earned her Ph.D. at the University of Tokyo in 1972. Staying at the university, she became a research associate (1972), associate professor (1993), and full professor (1999). In 2006, Kobayashi became a Professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo and accepted a position at Nihon University. She was a 2009 L'Oréal-UNESCO Awards for Women in Science laureate, "for her contribution to the development of molecular conductors and the design and synthesis of a single-component organic metal". Akiko Kobayashi (singer)
__NOTOC__ , also known by her alias Holi, is a Japanese singer, songwriter, composer and arranger. Kobayashi collaborated with Brian Eno and U2 on their 1995 project, the Passengers. Her smash hit debut song, from 1985s popular show "Kinyōbi no Tsumatachi e" made her famous in Japan. She was born in Tokyo and first began singing at age 15 and writing, later, songs for other artists that became big hits at home and abroad making her famous. She received a degree in Philosophy from the prestigious Gakushuin University in Tokyo. Her first proper job in the music industry was as a secretary at a music publishing company, which she got through a professor from university. She debuted as a writer in 1984, writing the song "Moon Eyes" for folk duo Bread & Butter. Then, in 1985, she released her debut single .
