Akershus County Municipality
Akershus County Municipality ( no, Akershus fylkeskommune) was the regional governing administration of the old Akershus county in Norway. The county municipality was established in its most recent form on 1 January 1976 when the law was changed to allow elected county councils in Norway. The county municipality was dissolved on 1 January 2020, when Akershus was merged with the neighboring counties of Buskerud and Østfold, creating the new Viken county which is led by the Viken County Municipality. The administrative seat is located in Oslo (which was not part of Akershus) and the county mayor was Anette Solli. The main responsibilities of the county municipality included the running of the 35 upper secondary schools. Norway is divided into 11 administrative regions, called counties (singular no, fylke, plural nb, fylker; nn, fylke from Old Norse: ''fylki'' from the word "folk", sme, fylka, sma, fylhke, smj, fylkka, fkv, fylkki) which until 1918 were known as '' amter''. It is a branch of cultural resources management (CRM), although it also draws on the practices of cultural conservation, restoration, museology, archaeology, history and architecture. Kjell Knudsen
Kjell Knudsen (23 March 1931 – 2022) was a Norwegian civil servant and politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Jevnaker. He spent his working career from 1948 to 1973 in the Norwegian State Railways, before embarking on a political career at the national level. From 1973 to 1977, during Bratteli's Second Cabinet and Nordli's Cabinet, Knudsen was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Social Affairs. He subsequently worked in the secretariat of the Nordic Council of Ministers from 1977 to 1979. Thor Gystad (born 3 August 1919 in Ullensaker, died 15 June 2007) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Akershus in 1969, and was re-elected on two occasions. Oslo Commuter Rail ( no, Lokaltog Østlandet) is a commuter rail centered in Oslo, Norway, connecting the capital to six counties in Eastern Norway. The system is operated by Vy (formerly NSB) and its subsidiary Vy Gjøvikbanen, using Class 69 and Class 72 electric multiple units (EMU). The network spans eight routes and 128 stations, with Oslo Central Station (Oslo S) as the central hub. The trains run on of electrified mainline railway owned by the Bane NOR.
