Akeem Bloomfield
Akeem Bloomfield (born 11 October 1997) is a Jamaican track and field athlete specializing in sprint events. Career Running for Auburn University under coach Henry Rolle, he finished second in the 400 meters at the 2018 NCAA Championships behind Michael Norman of USC. His time of 43.94 ranks #17 on the all-time list, one of only 18 human beings to run the distance under 44 seconds. 15 days later, he signed a professional contract with Puma. Less than a month later, Bloomfield ran 200 meters in 19.81, at the London Anniversary Games. . Bloomfield had never run under 20 seconds before, so his win was so unexpected, race announcers didn't even announce him as the winner until 20 seconds after the race when his name came up on the results display. Michael Johnson (sprinter)
Michael Duane Johnson (born September 13, 1967) is an American retired sprinter who won four Olympic gold medals and 8 World Championships gold medals in the span of his career. He formerly held the world and Olympic records in the 200 m and 400 m, as well as the world record in the indoor 400 m. He also once held the world's best time in the 300 m. Johnson is generally considered one of the greatest and most consistent sprinters in the history of track and field. Johnson is the only male athlete in history to win both the 200 meters and 400 meters events at the same Olympics, a feat he accomplished at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. The 200 metres, or 200-meter dash, is a sprint running event. On an outdoor 400 metre racetrack, the race begins on the curve and ends on the home straight, so a combination of techniques is needed to successfully run the race. The London Diamond League, formerly known as the London Grand Prix and subsequently as the Anniversary Games, is an annual athletics event held in London, England. Previously one of the five IAAF Super Grand Prix events, it is now part of the Diamond League. As the London Grand Prix, until 2012 all editions were held at the National Sports Centre in Crystal Palace. Michael Norman (sprinter)
Michael Arthur Norman Jr. (born December 3, 1997) is an American sprinter. He holds the world best time in the indoor 400 meters at 44.52 seconds. Outdoors, his 43.45, set at the 2019 Mt. SAC Relays is tied as the #4 on the all time list. In 2016, he became the world junior champion in both the 200 meters and 4×100 meter relay. In 2022, he became the world champion in both the 400 meters and 4x400 meter relay. Norman first gained international attention as a high school senior after he defeated reigning USA champion Justin Gatlin in a semi-final heat of the 200 meters at the 2016 Olympic Trials. He eventually placed fifth in the final and did not qualify for the Olympic team.
