Akashdeep Singh
Akashdeep Singh (born 2 December 1994) is an Indian field hockey player who plays as a forward for Uttar Pradesh Wizards in the Hockey India League and the India hockey team. Career Born in Verowal, Tarn Taran, Punjab, Singh started to play hockey in secondary school before joining the Guru Angad Dev Sports Club. He then joined the PAU Hockey Academy in Ludhiana in 2006 before joining the Surjit Hockey Academy in Jalandhar. In 2013, Singh was auctioned to the Delhi Waveriders of the Hockey India League. After three seasons with Delhi, Singh was signed by the Uttar Pradesh Wizards for $84,000. International Singh was the captain of the youth India hockey sides and has represented India senior side. He Played Olympics 2016 in Rio . He made 33 international goals. Singh has represented India in the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Hockey India League
Hockey India League (HIL), known as the Coal India Hockey India League is a professional field hockey league in India. The league is organized by Hockey India, the governing body for the sport in India. HIL, along with the Indian Premier League, Indian Super League, and Pro Kabaddi League, is considered one of the major sports leagues in the country. HIL consists of six teams, with the regular season lasting two months from January to February, with each team playing 10 games. The top four teams at the end of the season move into the play-offs, where the championship game decides the Hockey India League winner. 2021 Men's Asian Champions Trophy
The 2021 Men's Asian Champions Trophy was the sixth edition of the Men's Asian Champions Trophy, a men's field hockey tournament for the six best Asian national teams organized by the Asian Hockey Federation. It was originally scheduled to be held in from 17 to 27 November 2020 at the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh. In August 2020 the Asian Hockey Federation announced that the tournament would be postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic in Asia to 2021 to be held from 11 to 19 March 2021. In January 2021 the tournament was postponed again and it was planned to be held from 1 to 9 October 2021. The tournament was postponed again in September 2021 and was eventually held from 14 to 22 December 2021. The 2012 Men's Asian Champions Trophy was the second edition of the Men's Asian Champions Trophy. The tournament was held from 20 to 27 December 2012 in Doha, Qatar. The Hero Asian Champions Trophy 2018 was held at Muscat, Oman between October 18–28, 2018. It was the fifth edition of the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy, a field hockey tournament for the six best Asian national teams. This was announced by the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) on 29 January 2018. The Oman Hockey Association hosted the tournament. The 5th edition of the biennial event took place at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. The tournament featured host nation Oman, Pakistan, Malaysia, India, South Korea, and Japan. The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Birmingham 2022, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth of Nations that took place in Birmingham, England between 28 July and 8 August 2022. The men's field hockey event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games was held at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre from 25 July to 3 August 2014. Australia defeated India in the final to take their fifth consecutive gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, whilst England defeated New Zealand on penalties in the bronze medal match.
