The Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw ( pl, Akademia Teatralna im. Aleksandra Zelwerowicza) is a public higher education institution in Warsaw, Poland. Its focus is on the theatre arts. It is headquartered in the Collegium Nobilium, an eighteenth-century building which formerly housed an elite boarding secondary school run by Piarist monks. History It was founded in Łódź in 1946 and moved to Warsaw in 1949. It continues the tradition of the National Institute of Theatre Arts (''Państwowy Instytut Sztuki Teatralnej'') established in Łódź in 1932. Tadeusz Łomnicki
Tadeusz Łomnicki (; 18 July 1927 – 22 February 1992) was a Polish actor, one of the most notable stage and film artists of his time in Poland. He is remembered mostly for his roles in comedies and dramas, as well as for the role of Kordian in Juliusz Słowacki's play of the same title. He was also a notable professor and a rector of the State Theatre School in Warsaw. Jan Aleksander Englert (born 11 May 1943) is a Polish film actor. He has appeared in more than 60 films since 1957. Since 2003 he has served as Artistic Director of the National Theatre, Warsaw, National Theatre in Warsaw. Biography In 1957 at the age of 14 he made his film debut in Andrzej Wajda's ''Kanał''. Anna Weronika Bielicka (9 November 1915 – 9 March 2006) was a Polish singer and actress who was known by the name Hanna and its affectionate diminutive Hanka. Life Hanka Bielicka was born in 1915 in Konovka near Poltava (then part of the Russian Empire, now Ukraine). After the First World War she moved to Łomża, where she lived until the beginning of World War II, after that she was still very fond of the town and had big influence on its culture. In 1939 she completed her degree in Warsaw, after which she started to work as an actress.
