Ajeé Wilson
Ajeé Wilson ( ; born May 8, 1994) is an American middle-distance runner who specializes in the 800 meters. She is the 2022 World indoor champion at the 800 meter distance, after earning silver medals in 2016 and 2018. Wilson won bronze medals at both the 2017 and 2019 World Athletics Championships. She is the second-fastest American of all time in the event with a time of 1m 55.61s, and she holds North American indoor record. Wilson won titles in the 800 m at both the 2011 World Youth Championships and 2012 World Junior Championships. Her winning time of 2:00.91 at the latter is the third-fastest time run by a high schooler behind Mary Cain and Kim Gallagher. 2018 USA Outdoor Track And Field Championships

2019 World Athletics Championships
The 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships () was the seventeenth edition of the biennial, global athletics competition organised by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), since renamed World Athletics. It was held between 27 September and 6 October 2019 in Doha, Qatar, at the renovated multi-purpose Khalifa International Stadium, but reduced to 21,000 available seats. 1,772 athletes from 206 teams competed in 49 athletics events over the ten-day competition, comprising 24 events each for men and women, plus a mixed relay. 2015 IAAF World Relays – Women's Distance Medley Relay
The women's distance medley relay at the 2015 IAAF World Relays was held at the Thomas Robinson Stadium on 2 May. With the pre-meet world record being set by an American University (Villanova University), the first running of this event at the international level made this a ripe candidate for a new record. The race was competitive through the first leg, with Renelle Lamote of France have a marginal lead over Treniere Moser from the USA, with Kenyan Selah Jepleting Busienei just a step behind. Then Olympic champion Sanya Richards-Ross blew the race open, passing before the backstretch and opening up almost 20 metres on the French and Kenyan teams. Young star Ajee' Wilson doubled the lead before handing off to Shannon Rowbury while Kenya pulled into second with the field tightening behind them. 2015 IAAF World Relays
The 2015 IAAF World Relays was the second edition of the biennial, global track and field relay competition between nations. As in the previous year, it was held in May in Nassau, Bahamas. Apart from contesting for the Golden Baton for the best team overall, the competition also served as a qualifying stage for the 2016 Summer Olympics in the 4 × 100 and 4 × 400 metres relay. One major change compared to the inaugural edition was the replacement of the 4 × 1500 metres relay with the distance medley relay. The 2014 IAAF World Relays were held in May 2014 in Nassau, Bahamas. The event was the first edition of the IAAF World Relays. There were five events for each gender. In men's and women's 4 x 100 metres and 4 x 400 metres, the event served as a qualification event for the 2015 World Championships in Athletics. IAAF World Relays
The World Athletics Relays, known as the ''IAAF World Relays'' until 2019, is an international biennial track and field sporting event held by World Athletics where teams from around the world compete in relay races, some of which are not part of the standard Olympic programme. The first three editions were set to take place in Nassau, Bahamas at the Thomas Robinson Stadium in 2014, 2015 and 2017. Originally intended as an annual event, it was later decided to happen every odd year, the same as the World Athletics Championships for which it serves as a qualification stage. The competition format for the first edition included the 4 × 100 metres relay, the 4 × 200 metres relay, the 4 × 400 metres relay, the 4 × 800 metres relay and the 4 × 1500 metres relay. The women's 800 metres at the 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships took place on 3 and 4 March 2018. Summary In the heats, Olympic and returning bronze medalist Margaret Wambui was the victim of another disqualification. In the final, Ajeé Wilson sprinted the first turn to take the lead at the break. But then she relaxed into a more reasonable pace. Habitam Alemu took up the second position for a lap before, defending champion Francine Niyonsaba came forward at a faster pace. Wilson again sprinted to maintain position. After a 59.02 first 400m, Alemu accelerate on the backstretch, to try to pass Niyonsaba, who sprinted a few steps to rebuff that effort. 2018 IAAF World Indoor Championships
The 17th IAAF World Indoor Championships was held from 1 to 4 March 2018 in Birmingham, United Kingdom. This was the city's second hosting of the event as it previously did so in 2003. Bidding process Birmingham bid for the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships as well as the 2018 event. Portland was selected unanimously to host the 2016 event with Birmingham being the only other bidder. With Portland then out of the running for the 2018 event Birmingham was selected as the host of the 2018 event. The reason Portland was selected for 2016 and Birmingham for 2018 is that the IAAF wanted more time between events in the UK with London hosting the 2012 Summer Olympics as well as the 2017 World Championships in Athletics along with Cardiff hosting the 2016 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships. 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships – Women's 800 Metres
The women's 800 metres at the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships took place on March 19 and 20, 2016. Before the qualifying round here, Francine Niyonsaba had never run indoors. In the final, Ajee' Wilson took the lead at the break, with Margaret Nyairera Wambui following. Inexperienced at indoor strategy, Niyonsaba was in a frustrating position, blocked by the larger athletes ahead of her, boxed in, exchanging elbows with Habitam Alemu and Laura Roesler at her heels. On the second lap, Wambui got around Wilson to take the lead. Niyonsaba had had enough of this frustration, dropping behind Alemu then bouncing out to lane 2 running around the field into the lead, her third 200 so fast she opened up a 3-metre gap. From there, Niyonsaba simply held the gap all the way to the finish, with Wambui trying her hardest to make up the gap. 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships
The 16th IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics were held between March 17 and 20, 2016 in Portland, Oregon, United States. The event did not feature Russia. Following a WADA investigation into widespread and institutional doping practices in Russian athletics, the IAAF provisionally suspended Russia's membership of the organisation in November 2015, effectively excluding the country both from hosting events and entering competitions. Russia's effective exclusion from the tournament was confirmed in November 2015 when it was announced by IAAF that a decision over lifting its provisional suspension from international athletics would not be taken until the end of March at the earliest. 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships – Women's 800 Metres
The women's 800 metres at the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships took place on 19–20 March 2022. Summary Heavy favorite for gold, Great Britain's Keely Hodgkinson, withdrew from the event due to a Quadriceps, quad injury. Eight women qualified into the six lane track, four of them had to share lanes. Ajeé Wilson, paired with Freweyni Hailu, ran her first four steps fast off the line to immediately give her clear running in her lane, then she settled into her own pace.
