Ajax (band)
Ajax is an American, New York-based band, led by female singer Arleen Mitchel. The outfit released the single "Mind the Gap" in 1989, on Wax Trax! Records. A full-length self-titled debut LP followed, which combined industrial and acid-house music. The album, and its two singles failed to chart. Mitchel revived the name in the 1990s, most successfully on the 1995 single " Ex-Junkie" which became a minor club hit. "Ex-Junkie" is the band's first (and to date last) entry on the Billboard Hot Dance/Club chart, peaking at number 48. A-Jax (band)
A-Jax ( ko, 에이젝스, stylized as A-JAX) was a South Korean boy band formed by DSP Media in 2012. Early in their career, the group was known as DSP Boyz but then was changed to A-Jax. The group's final lineup was composed of five members: Hyeongkon, Yunyoung, Seungjin, Seungyeop, and Junghee. They made the first appearance on TV as a group on MBC Music's ''Making the Star – DSP Boyz'' on April 24, 2012. The group made its official debut with the single "One 4 U" in South Korea on June 1 and in Japan on August 8, 2012 with the same song. Wax Trax! Records
Wax Trax! Records is an American independent record label based in Chicago. It began as a record shop in Denver, Colorado, opened by life partners Jim Nash and Dannie Flesher, who sold the store in 1978 and moved to Chicago. In November of that year, they opened a store under the same name in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. During the 1980s and 1990s, the accompanying record label became a presence on the new wave and punk rock scenes in the city, and an outlet for European bands. The label was purchased in 1992 by TVT Records and was discontinued in 2001. In 2014, it was re-established by Julia Nash, daughter of co-founder Jim Nash. Richard Giraldi of the ''Chicago Sun-Times'' wrote, "As important as Chess Records was to blues and soul music, Chicago's Wax Trax imprint was just as significant to the punk rock, new wave and industrial genres." Zoo Entertainment was an American record label formed in 1990 by Lou Maglia. Zoo released three platinum records by the group Tool (band), Tool, as well as gold records by Green Jellÿ and Matthew Sweet. During the record company's early years, music industry executive George Daly (music executive), George Daly was the label's original Vice President of A&R. History The label was formed in 1990 by Lou Maglia, former president of Island Records. As early as 1993, Zoo was having financial difficulties. The record label also distributed Gamble & Huff's Philadelphia International Records for a short time. Being its distributor, the late Phyllis Hyman enjoyed a #1 R&B hit with "Don't Wanna Change The World," a song that was taken to US radio by radio promoter Jesus Garber, then a VP at Zoo. Infinite Love
"Infinite Love" is a single by Indian composer A. R. Rahman. The single was released under Sony Music on 20 December 2012 and was recorded to "instill faith and optimism in people" prior to the predicted doomsday on 21 December 2012. The song was also released in Hindi, titled "Behad Pyaar", which translates to "Infinite Love" in English. Rahman, Indian rapper Blaaze along with Gil Levy wrote the lyrics for the English version, whereas lyricist Irshad Kamil worked on the Hindi lyrics. Development Initially, several reports in September 2012 came up that Rahman's son A. R. Ameen would feature in his maiden production venture which would be a film. Michael Hornburg (born October 31, 1960) is an American writer and literary agent. He has published two novels: '' Bongwater'' (1995) and ''Downers Grove'' (1999), both of which have been adapted into feature films. He has also written for the Portland, Oregon publication ''The Portland Mercury''. Biography Hornburg was born in Chicago, where he lived on the city's north side until age fourteen before relocating to Downers Grove. He attended Downers Grove South High School, where he graduated in 1978. After graduating high school, Hornburg moved to Portland, Oregon and attended Portland State University.
