Aishath Nahula
Aishath Nahula (sometimes known by Aisha; born 12 March 1982) is a Maldivian politician and public figure. She is currently the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation of Maldives, and a national council member of the Jumhooree Party. Career Aisha was elected to the national executive council of the Jumhooree Party in June 2018. During the 2018 presidential elections, Aisha traveled to several islands on campaign to garner support for MDP/joint opposition presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih who won the bitterly fought elections which were held on 23 September 2018. Ibrahim Mohamed Solih
Ibrahim Mohamed Solih ( dv, އިބްރާހީމް މުޙައްމަދު ޞާލިޙް; ar, إبراهيم محمد صالح; born 1 March 1962), better known as Ibu (އިބޫ), is a Maldivian politician and the president of the Maldives since 17 November 2018. Solih was first elected to the People's Majlis in 1994, aged 30, as the MP from his home atoll of Faadhippolhu. Solih played a leading role in the formation of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and the Maldives Political Reform Movement from 2003 until 2008, which led to the country adopting a new modern constitution and multiparty democracy for the first time in its history. Malé
Malé (, ; dv, މާލެ) is the capital and most populous city of the Maldives. With a population of 252,768 and an area of , it is also one of the most densely populated cities in the world. The city is geographically located at the southern edge of North Malé Atoll ( Kaafu Atoll). Qasim Ibrahim (born February 10, 1951), also known as Buruma Qasim is a Maldivian politician, business magnate and philanthropist. As the chairman and founder of the Villa Group, he is one of the country's wealthiest businessmen. 2018 Maldivian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in the Maldives on 23 September 2018. Incumbent president Abdulla Yameen of the Progressive Party of Maldives was seeking re-election for a second five-year term. His only challenger was Ibrahim Mohamed Solih of the Maldivian Democratic Party, who was nominated as the joint candidate of a coalition of opposition parties. The result was a surprise victory for Solih, who received over 58% of the vote and was elected as the seventh President of the Maldives. He assumed office on 17 November 2018.
