Aikaterini Sarakatsani
Aikaterini "Katia" Sarakatsani ( gr, Αικατερίνη Σαρακατσάνη; born 3 January 1977) is a Greek swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke and individual medley events. She is a three-time Olympian (1996, 2000, and 2004), a former Greek record holder in the breaststroke, and a member of the swimming team for Hawaii Rainbow Warriors at the University of Hawaii, under head coach Vojko Race. Sarakatsani made her first Greek team, as a 19-year-old, at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. She failed to reach the top 16 final in any of her individual events, finishing twenty-third in the 200 m individual medley (2:19.74), and twenty-fifth in the 400 m individual medley (4:56.32). She also placed twenty-second, as a member of the Greek team, in the 4×100 m medley relay (4:24.80). At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Sarakatsani competed only in the 200 m individual medley. Swimming At The 2000 Summer Olympics – Women's 200 Metre Individual Medley
The women's 200 metre individual medley event at the 2000 Summer Olympics took place on 18–19 September at the Sydney International Aquatic Centre in Sydney, Australia. Yana Klochkova, Ukraine's swimming pride and three-time European champion, became the fourth swimmer in Olympic history to strike a medley double, since Claudia Kolb did so in 1968, Tracy Caulkins in 1984, and Michelle Smith in 1996. Javiera Salcedo (born November 29, 1977) is an Argentine former swimmer, who specialized in breaststroke events. She blasted an Argentine record of 1:11.79 to pull off a fifth-place effort in the Swimming at the 2007 Pan American Games – Women's 100 metre breaststroke, 100 m breaststroke at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Salcedo qualified for the Swimming at the 2004 Summer Olympics – Women's 100 metre breaststroke, women's 100 m breaststroke at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, by clearing a FINA B-standard entry time of 1:12.08 from the Spanish Spring Open Championships in Cadiz. Luo Xuejuan
Luo Xuejuan (also Luo Xue Juan; ; born January 26, 1984, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang) is a female Chinese swimmer, who competed mostly in the breaststroke. She is a former world record holder in the 50-meter breastroke (short course). Career She began swimming in 1991 because her parents thought she was so thin that the exercise would make her stronger. Luo first caught sporting world attention when she won the 100 breaststroke at China's 2000 Olympics Trials in Jinan in a solid time of 1:08.87 and finished second in the 200 breaststroke in 2:27.29. Amanda Ray Beard (born October 29, 1981), also known by her married name Amanda Brown, is an American swimmer and a seven-time Olympic medalist (two gold, four silver, one bronze). She is a former world record holder in the 200-meter breaststroke (long course). Beard's success has earned her the American Swimmer of the Year Award twice.
