Ahoada West
Ahoada West (also spelt Ahuda West) is a Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria, located northwest of Port Harcourt. It was extracted in 1996 from the old Ahoada Local Government that makes up the present Orashi Region of Rivers State. Its seat is in the town of Akinima. The Local Government Area comprises the Ekpeyes (Ubies and Ibuduyas), Engenni and Ogbogolo communities. Thus there are three distinct languages namely Ekpeye, Engenni and Ogbogolo. The Orashi river criss-crosses the entire Local Government area and its vegetation is mainly a high dense rain forest Rainforests are characterized by a closed and continuous tree canopy, moisture-dependent vegetation, the presence of epiphytes and lianas and the absence of wildfire. Orashi River
Orashi River (also Urashi or Ulasi), is a river of the lower Niger River basin, and a tributary of Oguta Lake, southeastern Nigeria. Urashi takes off, 183 m above mean sea level, from the rocks in Ezeama community of Dikenafai, Imo State. Described as a lifeline to Ideato South communities, Orashi stream serves as an all purpose river for drinking, washing and many others to communities such as Umulewe, Umuchima and Ntueke in the area. Engenni (''Ẹgẹnẹ'') is an Edoid language of Nigeria. Grammar Engenni is a fairly isolating language, having little affixation. There is no plural form for words. Ekpeye Language
Ekpeye people also known as Ekpeye Kingdom (An Igbo sub group) claim to have fled Bini to settle in Rivers State, Niger Delta, Nigeria. However, they speak an igboid language and dialect have no similarity to the aforementioned claim of migrating from Bini. Hence, they are of the Igbo extraction by dialect, culture, and every other way of life. They are predominantly found in Ahoada East and some in Ahoada West local government areas in Rivers.
