Ahmed Galal (footballer)
Ahmad Galal ( ar, أحمد جلال) is an Egyptian footballer. He currently plays as a striker for Egypt's Arab Contractors SC. Career Galal came to prominence on 27 January 2007 in the Egyptian Soccer Cup when, despite only playing in the second half of the game, he scored a hat-trick against Talkha Electricity Club. Al Ahly wound up winning the game 3-0. Ahmed Galal (politician)
Ahmed Galal (born 1948) is an Egyptian economist and politician, who was appointed minister of finance in the interim government headed by Hazem Al Beblawi on 16 July 2013. Early life and education Galal was born in 1948. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Cairo University in 1973. Next he obtained a master's degree in economics from the American University in Cairo in 1984. He also holds a PhD in economics, which he received from Boston University in 1986. Career Galal began his career at World Bank in 1984 where he worked for eighteen years. He was the executive director and director of research of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies (ECES) for two terms (1996–1997 and 2000–2006). In 2007 he was appointed member of the international board of governors of the International Development Research Center in Canada. The Egyptian Premier League ( ar, الدوري المصري الممتاز), also known as WE Egyptian Premier League (WE EPL) after the addition of title sponsor WE, is a professional association football league in Egypt and the top level of the Egyptian football league system. The league comprises 18 teams and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Egyptian Second Division. Seasons mostly run from August to May. Unlike most other leagues, all games are played all over the week. A hat-trick or hat trick is the achievement of a generally positive feat three times in a match, or another achievement based on the number three. Origin The term first appeared in 1858 in cricket, to describe H. H. Stephenson taking three wickets with three consecutive deliveries.
