Ahmed Deen
Ahmed Nuru Deen (born 30 June 1985) is a Sierra Leonean association football, footballer who plays as a left back for FC Elmstead. He has played for the Sierra Leone national team. Deen made his senior debut for Sierra Leone on 24 March 2007 against Togo in a 2008 African Nations Cup qualifier played in Freetown. Family background Deen was born to Oku parents and grew up in Freetown, and later moved to England where he started his football career. Club career Ahmed Deen arrived at the Moss Rose in the summer of 2008 from fellow League one club Peterborough United. He was once on the books as a trainee at Leicester City. He enjoyed spells with a variety of non-League teams, including Bishop's Stortford in the Conference South. Sierra Leone National Football Team
The Sierra Leone national football team represents Sierra Leone in men's international association football and it is governed by the Sierra Leone Football Association. The team's nickname is Leone Stars. The team is affiliated to the West African Football Union. Daniel Leach
Daniel Leach (born 5 January 1986) is an Australian former footballer who last played for Football League Two club Barnet as a defender. Career He attended St. Joseph's Nudgee College in Virginia, Queensland, and played state football for Queensland. He moved on to the Queensland Academy of Sport Football Program, and also played for Brisbane Strikers. During this time he was also called up to the Australia under-17 pool after u16 national championships. He took a break from football, moving to London, England and working in various jobs for 18 months, including an Italian restaurant and a TV commercial amongst other things. Albert Jarrett
Albert Ojumiri Jarrett (born 23 October 1984) is a Sierra Leonean Association football, footballer who last played for Dulwich Hamlet and has represented the Sierra Leone national football team. Club career Jarrett was born in Freetown to Creole parents, but was raised in South London, England. He started his career as a schoolboy at Arsenal, before joining the youth academy at Dulwich Hamlet. During the 2002–03 season, he was spotted by Wimbledon whilst playing for Dulwich Hamlet in the FA Youth Cup, and was offered a place in ''the Dons'' academy set-up. He played ten games for the Dons in 2003–04, but was released at the end of the season. Conference South
The National League South, formerly Conference South, is one of the second divisions of the National League in England, immediately below the top division National League. Along with National League North, it is in the second level of the National League System, and is the sixth tier overall of the English football league system. Non-League Football
Non-League football describes football leagues played outside the top leagues of a country. Usually, it describes leagues which are not fully professional. The term is primarily used for football in England, where it is specifically used to describe all football played at levels below those of the Premier League (20 clubs) and the three divisions of the English Football League (EFL; 72 clubs). Currently, a non-League team would be any club playing in the National League or below that level. Oku People (Sierra Leone)
The Oku people or the Aku Marabout or Aku Mohammedans are an ethnic group in Sierra Leone and the Gambia, primarily the descendants of marabout, liberated Yoruba people who were released from slave ships and resettled in Sierra Leone as Liberated Africans or came as settlers in the mid-19th century. Some Oku historically have intermarried since then with the ethnic Sierra Leone Creole people. The Creole are primarily descendants of African-American former slaves, as well as some from Jamaica, Nova Scotia, and slaves liberated from illegal slave trading in the 19th century. The Oku people primarily reside in the communities of Fourah Bay, Fula Town, and Aberdeen. 2008 African Nations Cup
The 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, also known as the MTN Africa Cup of Nations due to the competition's sponsorship by MTN, was the 26th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the biennial football tournament for nations affiliated to the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The tournament was staged at four venues around Ghana between 20 January and 10 February 2008. This was the last Africa Cup of Nations to use the old CAF logo. The Togo national football team ( French: Équipe nationale de football du Togo) represents Togo in international football and is controlled by the Togolese Football Federation.
