Ahmed Abdi Mohamed
Ahmed Abdi Mohamud Sugulle "Habsade" (Axmed Cabdi Xaabsade) is a Puntland and Somaliland politician. He was a decorated Colonel in the Somali Armed Forces and the second in command of the Somali Custodial Corps (Ciidanka Asluubta) equivalent to that of the Italian Arma dei Carabinieri but the Custodial Corps fall under the Ministry of the Interior and are part of the Police Force. A politician and respected elder later in life (he was instrumental in the founding of Somaliland and became the Speaker of the Somaliland House of Representatives. In 1998, he was appointed Minister of the Interior of Puntland but was dismissed in 2007 after a conflict with Mohamud Muse Hersi, who became President of Puntland in 2006. In 2007, he brought Somaliland troops into Las Anod, leading to Somaliland's effective control of the Sool region. He served as various Somaliland Ministers of state from 2008. House Of Representatives (Somaliland)
The House of Representatives ( so, Golaha Wakiilada, ar, مجلس النواب) is the lower house of the bicameral Parliament of the Somaliland, with the House of Elders being the upper house. The interim House of Representatives was formed in 1991, and driven by Somali National Movement. Somaliland National Charter of 1993 established bicameral legislature. The current House of Representatives was formed following parliamentary elections held on 29 September 2005, which resulted in a strong combined majority for the opposition Kulmiye and UCID parties. Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed
Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed ( so, Cabdulaahi Yuusuf Axmed, ar, عبدالله يوسف أحمد; 15 December 1934 – 23 March 2012) was a Somali politician and former colonel in the Somali National Army. He was one of the founders of the Somali Salvation Democratic Front, as well as the Puntland State of Somalia, the latter of which he served as the first president. In 2004, Ahmed also helped establish the Transitional Federal Government, which he led as President of Somalia from 2004 until 2008. Personal life Abdullahi Yusuf was born on 15 December 1934 in Galkayo, situated in the north-central Mudug region of Somalia. The city was at the time part of Italian Somaliland. His family hailed from the Omar Mahmoud sub clan of the larger Majeerteen Harti Darod clan. For his post-secondary education, Ahmed studied law at the Somali National University in Mogadishu. Galdogob
Galdogob ( so, Galdogob, ar, جلدغب) is a border town wholly administered by the semi-autonomous Puntland State of Somalia, and serves as the capital of the Galdogob District within the Mudug region. The town technically straddles the disputed 1950s-era Provisional Administrative Line, as depicted on virtually all worldwide maps, from north-central Somalia. Climate Galdogob has a hot arid climate (Köppen ''BWh''). The coldest average temperatures occur during the winter months of November to February, when thermometer readings range from . Jijiga
Jijiga (, am, ጅጅጋ, ''Jijiga'') is the capital city of Somali Region, Ethiopia. It became the capital of the Somali Region in 1995 after it was moved from Gode. Located in the Fafan Zone with 70 km (37 mi) west of the border with Somalia, the city has an elevation of 1,634 metres above sea level. Saleban Essa Ahmed "Haglotosiye" ( so, Saleeban Ciise Axmed “Xaglatoosiye”), is a prominent Somali politician who was the leader of the SSC Movement and served as Somaliland's Minister of Health. Haglotosiye has had an elaborate career in Somali politics, in 2009 he run as presidential candidate in the Puntland elections. After he lost the election he created Hoggaanka Badbaadada iyo Mideynta SSC (HBM-SSC), which had a main purpose of liberating the Sool, Sanaag and Ayn regions from Somaliland. However, he joined Somaliland after an agreement in 2012. Abdirisak Khalif Ahmed ( so, Cabdirisaaq Khaliif Axmed) is a Somali politician, and is the current speaker of Somaliland's Lower House of Parliament (House of Representatives). He previously served as Somaliland's Minister of Commerce during the Siilaanyo administration. Khatumo State ( so, Khaatumo; ar, ولاية خاتمة, translit=wilāyat khātimah), officially the Khatumo State of Somalia ( so, Dowlad Goboleedka Khaatumo ee Soomaaliya), was a successor to the SSC Movement. Centred on the Sool, Sanaag regions and the Buuhoodle district of Togdheer region, its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 2012. Yagori
Yagori ( so, Yagoori, Yaguri) is a town in the eastern Sool Region of Somaliland/Somalia. In January 1991, a peace conference was held in Yagori under the leadership of the Somali National Movement (later the government of Somaliland), and Habr Je'lo, Habar Yoonis, and Dhulbahante clans participated. In July 2002, the Somaliland army deployed 450 troops in Yagori. The governor of Puntland's Sool region, who was in Las Anod at the time, condemned the move, saying it would split the Harti clan.
