Ahmed Abdel Muti Hijazi
Ahmed Abdel Muti Hijazi ( ar, أحمد عبد المعطي حجازي) (born in 1935 in Al-Menoufiya, Egypt) is an Egyptian contemporary poet. Contributed to many literary conferences in many Arab capitals, and is one of the pioneers of the movement of renewal in contemporary Arabic poetry. Education Bachelor of Arts, Department of Sociology at the University of Sorbonne, France, in 1979. Positions held He was the managing editor of ''Rose al-Yūsuf'' magazine. In France he worked as a professor of Arabic poetry at the Paris 8 University and the new Sorbonne University. He returned to Cairo and worked for ''Al-Ahram'' newspaper. He served as editor-in-chief of '' Ibdaa'' magazine from 1990 to 2002 when he resigned from the post. He was reappointed editor-in-chief of the magazine in 2006. Egypt ( ar, مصر , ), officially the Arab Republic of Egypt, is a transcontinental country spanning the northeast corner of Africa and southwest corner of Asia via a land bridge formed by the Sinai Peninsula. Ahmed Shawqi
Ahmed Shawqi (also written Chawki; ar, أحمد شوقي, , ; ; 1868–1932), nicknamed the Prince of Poets ( ar, أمير الشعراء ''Amīr al-Shu‘arā’''), was an Arabic poet laureate, to the Arabic literary tradition. Life Raised in a wealthy family of mixed Circassian, Turkish, Kurdish, and Greek roots, his family was prominent and well-connected with the court of the Khedive of Egypt. Upon graduating from high school, he attended law school, obtaining a degree in translation. Shawqi was then offered a job in the court of the Khedive Abbas II, who was the khedive of Egypt, which he immediately accepted. After a year working in the court of the Khedive, Shawqi was sent to continue his studies in Law at the Universities of Montpellier and Paris for three years. Konstantinos Petrou Kavafis ( el, Κωνσταντίνος Πέτρου Καβάφης ; April 29 (April 17, OS), 1863 – April 29, 1933), known, especially in English, as Constantine P. Cavafy and often published as C. P. Cavafy (), was a Greek poet, journalist, and civil servant from Alexandria. His work, as one translator put it, "holds the historical and the erotic in a single embrace." Cavafy's friend E. M. Khalil Mutran
Khalil Mutran ( ar, خليل مطران, ; July 1, 1872 – June 1, 1949), also known by the sobriquet ''Shā‘ir al-Quṭrayn'' ( ar, شاعر القطرين, links=no / literally meaning "the poet of the two countries") was a Lebanese poet and journalist who lived most of his life in Egypt. Life He was born at Baalbek in Ottoman Syria to Abdu Yusuf Mutran and Malaka Sabbag from Haifa. Nakhlé Moutran, pasha of Baalbek, was his cousin. Khalil's mother Malaka descended from a large Palestinian family. Malaka's father was among the most respected persons in Haifa and her grandfather was an advisor of Ahmed al-Jazzar, pasha of Saint John d'Acre, who successfully resisted the siege of this town by the troops of Napoleon Bonaparte.
