Aharon Razin
Aharon Razin (Hebrew: אהרון רזין; April 6, 1935 – May 27, 2019) was an Israeli biochemist. Biography Aharon Razin was raised in Petah Tikva. He began his academic studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, majoring in physics and mathematics. He completed his M.A. and PhD in biochemistry, and did post-doctoral work at the California Institute of Technology. When he returned to Israel in 1971, he served as senior lecturer, associate professor and full professor of cellular biochemistry and human genetics at the Hebrew University Faculty of Medicine. In 1980, Razin was appointed head of the Department of Cellular Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine and Head of the Institute of Biochemistry. The Louisa Gross Horwitz Prize for Biology or Biochemistry is an annual prize awarded by Columbia University to a researcher or group of researchers who have made an outstanding contribution in basic research in the fields of biology or biochemistry.
