Aguilar De La Frontera
Aguilar, or in full Aguilar de la Frontera, is a municipality and town in the province of Córdoba, Andalusia, southern Spain, near the small river Cabra, from the provincial capital, Córdoba, on the Córdoba-Málaga railway. As Ancient Ipagro, it also was an Ancient/medieval bishopric and remains a Latin Catholic titular see. The population has remained stable during the past hundred years, numbering 13,653 in 2007. History First traces of human presence in the area date to the middle Palaeolithic Age. The Romans captured it from the Iberians during the time of the Roman Republic and named it Ipagro, which took part in the civil war between Julius Caesar and Pompey, and flourished in the early Imperial Age. Félix Aguilar Observatory ( es, Observatorio Astronómico Félix Aguilar ; OAFA) is an astronomical observatory. It was established in 1953, in San Juan Province, Argentina. In 1974, it was renamed to Carlos Ulrrico Cesco Astronomical Station ( es, Estación Astronómica Carlos Ulrrico Cesco, links=no ; EACUC). Its primary observing facility is located El Leoncito National Park in the west of San Juan Province. Also located in El Leoncito Park is the Leoncito Astronomical Complex. The observatory is operated by the School of Physical and Natural Sciences at National University of San Juan in San Juan, Argentina. The original OAFA observatory buildings are located at the west end of the city. The Château d'Aguilar (Languedocien: ''Castèl d’Aguilar'') is a 12th-century castle, one of the so-called Cathar castles, located in the ''commune'' of Tuchan in the Aude ''département'' of France. Architecture The design of the castle is an example of the practical military thinking guiding the 12th century architecture. The castle consists of an inner keep built in the 12th century, surrounded by an outer pentagonal fortification from the 13th century. This fortification is oriented such that its point guards the side most favourable to attackers. The keep and the inner hexagonal fortification is flanked at each corner with semi-circular guard towers, each equipped with archery outlooks. Aguilar is a Statutory Town located in Las Animas County, Colorado, United States. The town population was 456 at the 2020 United States Census. Cattleman and prominent pioneer José Ramón Aguilar founded the town in 1894. History The town was named for state legislator J. Ramon Aguilar. Aguilar owned the land that the town was built on. A post office was established at Aguilar in 1890. In 1894 the town was incorporated. From September 1913 until late April 1914, much of Las Animas County was embroiled by the Colorado Coalfield War, which saw up to 12,000 pro-United Mine Workers of America strikers engaged in both peaceful and violent confrontations with the Rockefeller-owned Colorado Fuel & Iron Company, other mining outfits, strikebreakers, and the Colorado National Guard. Aguilar De Campoo
Aguilar de Campoo () is a town and municipality of Spain located in the province of Palencia, autonomous community of Castile and León. It is close to the River Pisuerga. Its 2011 population is 7741. It is one of the locations of the St. James' Northern Way (Ruta del Besaya). Since 2017, the municipality has been included in the Geopark of Las Loras, the first UNESCO Geopark in Castile and León. History In May 1255 Alfonso X the Wise granted Aguilar a royal fuero, and thus the town also became a ''realengo'' ('royal demesne'). The town maintained that status until 1332.
