Agression is an American hardcore punk band from Silver Strand Beach, Oxnard, California, United States. Agression was one of the first bands of the "Nardcore" scene and an early example of the "skate punk" style. The band fused skate culture with the punk scene, featuring a song about skateboarding ("Intense Energy") and a Glen E. Friedman photo of Arthur Lake skating a pool on their first and most popular album, ''Don't Be Mistaken''. The band is known for its fast-paced, aggressive songs such as "Slammin' at the Club", "Money Machine", "Dear John Letter", "Never Alone", "Go to War", and "Locals Only". Hardcore Punk
Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Its roots can be traced to earlier punk scenes in San Francisco and Punk rock in California, Southern California which arose as a reaction against the still predominant History of the hippie movement, hippie cultural climate of the time. Ill Repute is an American hardcore punk band from Oxnard, California, United States, formed in 1981. They are noted for popularizing the "Nardcore" sound in the mid-1980s hardcore punk scene, and recorded for Mystic Records. Their record ''What Happens Next?'' (''What Happened Then?'' on CD) holds high status in hardcore circles. It is notable for its cover of the 1970s pop music hit "Cherokee Nation". The band broke up in July 2004 after a short tour of Hawaii with the Oahu band 8mm Overdose. Silver Strand Beach
Silver Strand Beach is an unincorporated beach neighborhood in Ventura County, California, United States. Lying between the mouth of Channel Islands Harbor on the north and the ocean entrance to the Port of Hueneme on the south, the eastern side of the beach community lies along the boundary of the Naval Construction Battalion Center Port Hueneme. The harbors and the Naval base almost completely surround Silver Strand, keeping the area relatively separate from the city of Oxnard and making it accessible by only one main road, Victoria Avenue. T.S.O.L. (True Sounds of Liberty) is an American punk rock band formed in 1978 in Long Beach, California. Although most commonly associated with hardcore punk, T.S.O.L.'s music has varied on each release, including such styles as deathrock, art punk, horror punk and other varieties of punk music. History Formed in 1978 in Long Beach, T.S.O.L. originated as a punk band. Originally under the name Vicious Circle, the band eventually changed their name to T.S.O.L by September 1980. Killer Pussy was a satirical punk rock/ new wave group from Phoenix, Arizona. They are best known for their 1982 song "Teenage Enema Nurses in Bondage". History Lucy LaMode, who eventually became Killer Pussy's lead singer, became a fan of punk rock following high school and found herself moonlighting in a Phoenix punk band called "The Roll-Ons" with Les a Go Go singing about pantyhose and feminine hygiene. The Roll-Ons" were backed by Feederz drummer John E. Precious. LaMode met musician Robert X. Planet and began bonding over singer and actress Edith Massey who was part of the John Waters ensemble.
