Agora, Inc. is a Baltimore, Maryland-based network for over thirty companies in the publishing, information services, and real estate industries. Agora was founded in 1978, in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. The Agora Companies operate independently from cities around the world. History Agora was founded by Bill Bonner in 1978. Agora began with one flagship publication in 1979, International Living. Throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s, Agora expanded to include publishing subsidiaries, real estate holdings, and restaurants. As of 2015, Agora's publications claimed to have around one million readers throughout the world. In 2016, Agora, previously Agora, Inc., was reintroduced as The Agora. The company represents a private network for businesses that publish financial, heath, travel research, and analysis as well as special interest books and newsletters. Bill Bonner (author)
Bill Bonner is an American author of books and articles on economic and financial subjects. He is the founder of Agora Financial, as well as a co-founder of Bonner & Partners publishing. Bonner has written articles for the news and opinion blog LewRockwell.com, '' MoneyWeek'' magazine, and his daily financial column ''Bill Bonner's Diary''. Biography Bonner was born in 1948. He attended the University of New Mexico and Georgetown University Law School, and he began work with Jim Davidson, at the National Taxpayers Union. Bonner was a director of MoneyWeek from 2003 to 2009. Lila Rajiva
Lila Rajiva is an American writer. She has undergraduate degrees in economics and English as well as a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University, where she did doctoral work in international relations and political philosophy. She has taught at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. In 2005, Rajiva authored ''The Language of Empire: Abu Ghraib and the American Media'', a study of propaganda which examines the place of Iraqi prisoner torture in U.S. culture and politics. Rajiva co-authored ''Mobs, Messiahs, and Markets'' with Bill Bonner, which details mass delusions in the markets and politics and explains why they continually arise. The book was awarded the GetAbstract International Book Award for 2008.
