The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos is the Metropolitan See for the Ecclesiastical province of Lagos in Nigeria. History Background The origin of the Archdiocese of Lagos dates back to the effort of Irish and French missionaries of the Society of African Missions (SMA) to plant the seed of Catholicism in West Africa. The first venture by SMA to establish an African Mission in West Africa began in 1858 under the leadership of a Lyon based father, Melchior Joseph de Marion Bresillac. A member of the Paris Foreign Missions Society, Bresillac had spent time in India and his desire for the new society was to spread the church and train Africans as priests to continue the work of the mission. The proposal was originally opposed by Pope Pius IX but with Bresillac's determination, the propaganda prefect approved the mission. Moss Valley, Wrexham
The Moss Valley ( cy, Dyffryn Moss, ) is an area and country park in Wrexham County Borough, Wales. The area, informally known as "''The Moss''" and ''The Aggey'' by local people, has an extensive coal mining history. History Thomas Telford In 1796, a feeder reservoir lake was constructed in the Valley for an extension of the Ellesmere Canal under Thomas Telford. The canal would have eventually served as an extension from Trevor Basin. This plan was abandoned in 1798. Remnants of the canal are still visible in nearby Gwersyllt, and a street in the village is named ''Heol Camlas'' (Welsh for ''Canal Way''). Telford's lake is not the lake that is currently present in the valley. Agaie is a Local Government Area in Niger State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Agaie on the A124 highway. It has an area of 1,903 km and a population of 132,907 at the 2006 census. Agaie Emirate
The Agaie Emirate was a state created by Malam Baba, a Fulani warrior who conquered the Nupe people of the area in 1822. Its seat was the present town of Agaie in Niger State, Nigeria, and was subject to the Sokoto Caliphate. Baba's son Abdullahi was inaugurated as the first emir of Agaie in 1832. The Agaie Emirate comprised one part of the old Nupe Kingdom, the others being the Bida Emirate and the Lapai Emirate. Agey () is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Ageysiens'' or ''Ageysiennes'' Geography Agey is located some 20 km west of Dijon and 15 km east of Pouilly-en-Auxois. The A38 autoroute passes through the northern edge of the commune from east to west but has no exit. Access to the commune is via the D905 from Sombernon in the west which passes east parallel to and near the A38 continuing to Pont-de-Pany. From the D905 the D9G goes south to the village and continues south to Gissey-sur-Ouche. The D108 comes from Remilly-en-Montagne in the west through the heart of the commune and the village and continues east to Sainte-Marie-sur-Ouche. Bantay, officially the Municipality of Bantay ( ilo, Ili ti Bantay; fil, Bayan ng Bantay), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 37,118 people. It is situated just north-east of Vigan, the provincial capital.
