Agenda (British TV Programme)
''Agenda'' is a British current affairs television programme that was broadcast on BBC Scotland during the early part of the 1980s, airing mostly on Sundays at 1:25 pm before being moved to Friday evening. It was a successor to the general current affairs programme ''Current Account'', which ran from 1968 until May 1983. Agenda's first presenter was James Cox with Kenneth Cargill producing. The editor was Matthew Spicer. Subsequently, the former SNP politician George Reid presented the programme and the producer was Kirsty Wark, later to become a television presenter in her own right. The series was replaced by ''Left, Right and Centre''. James Cox (journalist)
James Cox is a British journalist and broadcaster who had a wide ranging career in newspapers and in broadcasting in Scotland. After a spell with the '' Daily Record'' newspaper in Glasgow he worked on ''Public Account'' from 1975 with Donald MacCormick and Andrew Neil and presented ''Good Morning Scotland'' on BBC Radio Scotland for many years. He became the BBC's North America Correspondent based in New York City in 1983 before returning to London as a BBC political correspondent at Westminster and then joining ''Newsnight'' on BBC2. George Reid (Scottish Politician)
Sir George Newlands Reid (born 4 June 1939) is a Scottish politician and journalist who served as Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament from 2003 to 2007. A member of the Scottish National Party (SNP), he was a Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Mid Scotland and Fife region from 1999 to 2003 and then for the Ochil constituency from 2003 to 2007. Reid was Member of Parliament (MP) for Clackmannan and East Stirlingshire from February 1974 to 1979. Early life Reid was born on 4 June 1939 in Tullibody, near Alloa, Clackmannanshire, the son of George Reid, a company director, and Margaret (née Forsyth). He was educated at Tullibody School and Dollar Academy. Reid attended the University of St Andrews, where he earned an MA with First-class honours in History in 1962. BBC One Scotland is a Scottish free-to-air television channel owned and operated by BBC Scotland and is a Scottish variation of the UK-wide BBC One. For all of the time the channel is referred to on screen as ''BBC One Scotland'', sometimes using overlays to replace the normal channel identifier. The station also has its own team of continuity (broadcasting), continuity announcers, provided by BBC Scotland, to accommodate for the variations seen in Scotland from the rest of the BBC One network, whilst also providing the channel with an added Scottish identity. Kirsty Wark
Kirsteen Anne "Kirsty" Wark FRSE (born 3 February 1955) is a Scottish television presenter with a long career at the BBC. Starting on Radio Scotland, where she became a producer, Wark switched to television, presenting The Late Show and Newsnight, as well as hosting her own interview programme and launching a production company. Her activities have included reporting on the Lockerbie bombings, hosting a book quiz and encouraging open discussion of menopause. In The Great British Bake Off, she qualified as Star Baker.
