Against (styled as AgainST) were an American crossover thrash band, formed in 2006 for the ''Welcome 2 Venice'' compilation by singer-songwriter Dan Clements, original Suicidal Tendencies members Grant Estes, Louiche Mayorga and Amery Smith and former No Mercy vocalist Kevin Guercio. History In 2006, Louiche Mayorga started the compilation album project ''Welcome 2 Venice'' with other bands from Venice, California. Just a few days later he met by chance with Grant Estes and Amery Smith, he told them about the project and they instantaneously accepted to join it. Mayorga recorded some tapes and sent them to Dan Clements (Excel founding member and frontman) who called him that same night to form new band together. With the line-up complete, the band was called Against. Thrash Metal

Excel (band)
Excel is a crossover thrash band from Venice, California, founded in 1983 by singer Dan Clements and guitarist Adam Siegel. They were influenced by 1970s punk rock musicians like the Germs and Black Flag, and heavy metal bands like Black Sabbath, Trouble, Slayer, Corrosion of Conformity and Cryptic Slaughter. They were also influenced by street art, Excel is known for painting graffiti on the streets of the cities where they make their tours, hence there are many different logos of the band. Excel came out of the West Side Los Angeles crossover thrash scene as did many others in California like No Mercy, Beowülf, Suicidal Tendencies and Cryptic Slaughter, and sometimes with other performers on the thrash metal scene like Testament, Overkill and Megadeth. Los Cycos was an American crossover thrash band founded in 1984 in Venice, Los Angeles, California, by Suicidal Tendencies frontman Mike Muir. The only recording of the band appears on the rare 1985 release ''Welcome to Venice'', the debut album and first release from Suicidal Records. History Los Cycos formed in 1984. No Mercy is an American thrash metal band from Venice, California, the brainchild of guitarist Mike Clark who later played in Suicidal Tendencies. History The band started in 1982 and featured lead vocalist Keven Guercio, guitarist Mike Clark, bassist Ken Blakley later replaced by Ric "Rancid" Clayton (the artist who designed the Suicidal Tendencies logo as well as the shirts on S.T.'s first album) and drummer Sal Troy. Guercio recorded a few demos and the tracks on the ''Welcome to Venice'' (1985) compilation before leaving and moving to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and was replaced by Suicidal Tendencies vocalist Mike Muir.
