Afternoon Express is a South African advertiser-funded production variety magazine talk show produced by Cardova for SABC 3. Presenters *Palesa Tembe Past presenters * Jeannie D *Bonnie Mbuli *Bonang Matheba *Danilo Acquisto History On 18 February 2015, a press release from SABC 3, stated that their longest running talk show, Three Talk, would come to an end on 20 April 2015. This comes after host of the show, Noleen Maholwana-Sangqu, announced her retirement after 12 years of service, however, other reports say the show had been cancelled due to low ratings. In April 2015, SABC 3 announced that Afternoon Express would take its place. The channel started broadcasting the show live on 4 May 2015. SABC 3
SABC 3 (stylised as S3) is a South African free-to-air public television network owned by the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). It carries programming in English and, few in other South African languages. It has a number of its own reality and talk shows and had lately introduced a new series called “The Estate”. As of June 2018, it has been broadcasting in high definition. In April 2021, the channel rebranded and is stylised as S3. History On 1 January 1981, two services were introduced, TV2 broadcasting in Zulu and Xhosa and TV3 broadcasting in Sotho and Tswana, both targeted at a Black urban audience. Bonnie Mbuli
Bonnie Mbuli (born 3 March 1979) is a South African actress, businesswoman, and television personality. She was a presenter on the SABC 3 show ''Afternoon Express''. Since 2020, she has starred in the BBC drama series ''Noughts + Crosses''. Early years Mbuli was born in Soweto, South Africa, in 1979. She attended the Dominican Convent School in Belgravia, Johannesburg, and then Greenside High School in Greenside, Johannesburg. The eldest of three children, she was discovered at a bus stop on her way home from school by an actor's agent, who cast her in her first television role in the series ''Viva Families'' in 1992, when she was 13 years old. Bonang Dorothy Matheba (born 25 June 1987), is a South African award-winning television presenter, radio personality, actress and social media personality. Born in Mahikeng, North West, she is known for her flamboyant presenting skills and her signature voice. Matheba presented the SABC 1 music show ''LIVE'' (now ''Live Amp'') which built her spotlight in the industry. She is also known for being the first Black South African to be featured on numerous magazines. In 2011, she became the first South African celebrity to launch an online reality show called ''B*Dazzled''. In 2013, she was the first international ambassador for the cosmetic brand Revlon, outside the US.
